Chapter 777 Unqualified

The man took a few steps back due to the force. Naturally, he could not reach the ball, and Vickie took advantage of this as she tried to aim for the best shot. Just as she was about to score, the man behind stopped her with his club. She felt a strong hand on her arm pulling her away, which made her lose yet another opportunity to score. Vickie was annoyed. At this point, they both knew that they each had quite a number of dirty tricks up their sleeves. This match was no more child’s play. Vickie arched her back, her eyes shot daggers as Gregory did the same for defense. She said through clenched teeth, “You will definitely lose today.” Gregory gave a cold smile. “Are you that confident?” “Of course!” As her voice trailed away, she immediately tackled past him from the gap between his armpits in a swift move. Gregory furrowed his brow. He did not have the time to react when she grabbed his club and pounced vigorously to Gregory’s right side with full agility. Her right hand gave a light sway and set the ball flying with a soft hit using her club before the ball landed perfectly — a hole-in-one. Massimo cheered and clapped his hands hysterically. “Amazing game! Great job Vick!” He was so exhilarated that he unconsciously called her the way he used to. However, both Gregory and Vickie did not look bothered by that. Gregory wiped his sweat as he admitted his defeat. He said, “I lost.” Vickie raised an eyebrow, looking pleased. “What about our bet?” Gregory kept his word. So he asked, “What do you want?” This question put Vickie off course. To get Gregory to do her a favor? Honestly, she had not thought of what she wanted him to do yet. Gregory grinned as he saw her hesitation. “There’s no rush, take your time. Our promise will be valid until the day ends.” With that, he turned around and walked towards the rest area. Yuliana had already been waiting there. The match earlier on had made her anxious as she thought Gregory would win, but she did not expect Vickie to win instead. The thought of this made her unsatisfied. She waited for Gregory to come closer before she passed him an iced drink and whined, “I can’t believe she didn’t let you win, Gregory. She should know her place. Who does she think she is?” Upon hearing this, Gregory paused his hand midair. He bore into her eyes and said coldly, “What makes you think that you can say that about her?” Yuliana was shocked. The next second, Gregory drew his hand back. He ordered the waiter in a curt voice, “Get me a new cup of iced water.” “Yes.” The waiter hurried off, but Yuliana was still shocked. She quickly brought the glass of water to him again and explained, “Gregory, I had this specifically made for you…” He did not wait for her to finish before he broke her off in the middle of the sentence. “Don’t you ever make assumptions and get me sugary drinks again! I don’t need you to serve me anything!” He picked up his club and walked to the center of the field again after he said this. Yuliana was completely baffled. The man’s coldness towards her left a strong sense of humiliation that ignited the bottom of her heart. It was especially since the commotion gained attention from the onlookers. A part of them even knew about Gregory and Vickie’s stormy relationship. She could feel her face burn as her heart filled with deep hatred and abomination. It was all because of that b*tch! Her hatred scorched deep as she glared at Gregory. Taking big steps, she marched towards them in her high heels. Since Vickie won the game, she was in a better mood than she had been in the morning. She talked and drank with Massimo at the same time. Suddenly, someone grabbed the iced drink from her hand. Before she knew it, she felt a chill and realized that she was drenched in cold water. She was soaked from head to toe. “You fox-faced b*tch! What the hell did you tell Gregory for him to take your side so much?” Vickie blinked. The first thing she saw was Yuliana’s face, flushed in anger. Massimo was stunned, but he looked more uncomfortable than shocked. “Miss Lynch, you…” “Smack!” Massimo did not manage to finish his sentence before he was interrupted with a slap. A sharp slap landed on Yuliana’s face. That shut Massimo up as he turned and stared at Vickie, speechless. However, Vickie looked calm as water. It seemed like this was not the first time this happened. She was surprisingly calm as she whispered underneath her breath, “Who do you think you are to ask me this?” Yuliana was going mad from anger. This was the first time in her life a woman belittled her this way! She cupped her face, her eyes welling up from anger and annoyance. She could feel the side of her cheek heat up. “You, you … How dare you hit me? “ Vickie gave a mirthless smile. She conveniently took a handkerchief from Massimo. He gaped at her as she wiped her face dry. She then spat, “Since you took the trouble to bother me, why would I let the chance to slap you slide? If you’re not happy, you could always whine to Gregory Graham. I’m sure he’ll back you up!” Yuliana was so angry, her face was red. However, she knew she was not Vickie’s match when it came to a fight. It could be said that this woman had never paid her any attention from the start. She realized that Vickie was quite the thorn in her flesh. She could not let her stay by Gregory’s side! A ruthless look flashed through Yuliana’s eyes as she hissed, “Good, you wait and see! I will tell Gregory how you bullied me!” After she said this, she turned and she stormed out of the field in her heels. As Vickie had been irritated from the beginning, she only realized that the handkerchief belonged to Massimo when she was done wiping her face. She quickly said to him, “I’m sorry, I will return your handkerchief after I’ve cleaned it.” The overwhelming atmosphere earlier on reminded Massimo of how faring and fearless she had been four years ago. Massimo was still quite shocked. He shook his head as he came back to reality. “It’s fine, it’s just a handkerchief. Just throw it away. Vick, you…” He stuttered as if he was unsure if he should continue to talk. Vickie raised her eyebrows and gave him a humorless smile. “You’re not calling me Miss Thomas anymore?” Massimo let out an uncomfortable smile. When Gregory and Vickie broke up, Gregory had forbidden any of them to be friends with Vickie. Since then, he started calling her “Miss Thomas” and kept his distance from her to prove his loyalty. She was still as ferocious as she had been four years ago. However, her ferociousness had been dulled down with a twist of calmness and modesty now. Suddenly, a complicated thought burned in his head and he could no longer hold it in. Massimo shook his head as he said, “Things are too complicated between the both of you. I can’t say much about it as an outsider, but I can tell you this. Gregory did not go through these four years as easily as you think, so if it’s possible…” “No.” Vickie seemed to know what he wanted to tell her even though he had not finished what he was about to say. She cut him short and replied with a dead tone, “He and I have a never-ending grudge. If he stands, then I will fall.” Once she said that, the words that Massimo wanted to say became stuck at his throat and he found it hard to continue.
