Chapter 775 Tranquility
In the living room at the main building.
Fully dressed, Gregory waited there.
It was rare to see him dressed in a casual white outfit. The whiteness washed away his usual dullness, making him look bright and handsome. It emitted a feeling like he was back in college once again.
Next to him sat a sloppy man whose body leaned unsteadily against the couch as he held a bunch of grapes and ate them piece by piece.
“Did you hit your head, Third Brother Gregory? Didn’t you say you never wait for women? Who is this beauty that you place upon such honor by waiting for her here?”
He had supposedly woken up at the crack of dawn, so he should have been waiting for a while.
Gregory was reading the news on his Ipad as he glanced upwards at Massimo Nolan.
His complexion was colorless, like a block of million-year-old ice.
“You can leave if you’re annoyed.”
The expression on Massimo’s face turned ghastly, and he hurriedly added on, “Hey, don’t take it to heart. I was just joking about it.”
Upon saying this, he relaxed his body and continued to lie against the couch. He laughed as he said, “I don’t mind waiting for a while. I’m quite free anyway. I’m just curious who this confidante whom Third Brother Gregory is waiting for is.”
Gregory glanced at him but did not speak.
Soft footsteps could be heard echoing from the outside.
Massimo raised his eyebrows and jumped from the couch, laughing. “Yo, the main owner is here.”
The door to the living room swung wide as a slender figure entered leisurely.
Vickie wore a simple casual outfit too. She had put on a light gray jacket and a pair of joggers. Underneath those joggers were a pair of long, lean legs. Her short hair was kept neat and tidy, with a few strains of loose hair at the front, and her eyes had a somewhat freshness to it which shone brightly and clearly.
Massimo was astonished to see her.
As one of Gregory’s closest friends, it was no surprise that he knew Vickie.
He also knew that they shared a lot of gratitude and grudges.
Almost everyone knew about them as they were quite vigorously entwined with each other back then.
Gregory was even evil enough to send her into prison.
How was it possible that they could live under the same roof in tranquility now?
Did they make up, or did they come to a peace treaty?
Massimo looked at them in confusion.
Vickie and Gregory looked magnanimous on the other hand. Vickie gave Massimo a quick glance as she walked in. With her eyebrows raised, she asked, “So it’s just us?”
Massimo had a weird look on his face.
Gregory was calm as he placed the iPad down. He stood up, adjusted his clothes, and replied in a deep voice, “There is someone else.”
Just as his words trailed off, a seductive feminine voice echoed from the doorway.
“My God, look at this amazing weather today! You should really take a walk with me, Gregory.”
Along with that voice came Yuliana Lynch. She was wearing one of the pieces from Chanel’s Haute Couture Collection.
All they saw was her delicate makeup, sharp eyes, and her set of perfect teeth. On her head, wavy curls landed softly above her shoulders. The way her hips swayed from side to side when she walked was so captivating that it mesmerized any onlookers at first sight.
Massimo was stunned.
He did not have the time to react when he heard a woman scoff.
Naturally, that person was Vickie.
The woman glared coldly with her narrowed eyes that carried a sense of mockery and disdain.
Yuliana ignored her as she understood the thorny past Vickie and Gregory shared. From what she had heard, the bond that the two of them shared was quite touching.
What much can that do though?
She was the person next to Gregory now. As a saying went, “A good horse will never return to the same pasture.”
One glance at Gregory would tell that he was a decisive person.
Since he had ruthlessly sent Vickie to prison and left her to own devices for 4 years, how much affection did he have for her?
Yuliana did not worry. In fact, her animosity towards Vickie reduced much more when she looked into their past.
Hand on her waist, she walked straight to Gregory’s side and hooked herself onto his elbow. She asked flirtatiously, “Gregory, I heard you want to bring me out for golf, is that true?”
Gregory’s eyes landed on the woman. As his eyes traveled to her hand on his elbow, he unconsciously furrowed his brows.
The pungent smell of her perfume penetrated his nostrils. It was so strong that he wanted to sneeze.
Nonetheless, he held it in. He reached out his hand and placed it around her waist. He nodded his head. “Yeah, didn’t you say that it’s awfully boring to stay here? It’s a good day to bring you out for a drive today.”
Yuliana’s eyes shone.
She became so excited that she almost jumped.
“Really? Let me go get dressed.”
“Sigh.”
She was just about to leave when Gregory pulled her back.
Gregory’s eyes swept through her outfit. “Don’t change, you look good in what you’re wearing now.”
Yuliana wore a fish-tailed, midi length skirt with a white oversized blouse. She had a lean figure, and her ample bosom bulged against her blouse which made her waist look relatively delicate as if it could be snapped by a hand.
Noticing his gaze, Yuliana blushed and made herself look shy.
“Really? Then I’ll wear this outfit.”
Gregory casually nodded his head, but his eyes had secretly drifted off to Vickie.
Vickie had her back against him, stone-cold like a pine tree.
An unexplainable feeling of anger rose deep in his heart.
He gave a soft snort and ignored her. He picked up his jacket and brought Yuliana out of the house.
It was not until the couple had walked out of the living room that Massimo realized what had happened. He looked back at Vickie.
He asked questioningly, “Miss Thomas, shall we go too?”
Vickie was expressionless. She did not even bother to reply to him before she left.
Massimo did not expect to be put in such a tough spot, so he rubbed his nose in embarrassment.
He knew for one thing that Vickie had always been this way. She had been cold since 4 years ago, so what more could be expected 4 years later.
He did not understand what Gregory was thinking. Since they had broken up, they should both embark on their separate journeys and never to cross paths again.
Yet he had to bring her back to his side. All things aside, Massimo would be content if they reconciled.
Looking at the situation now, there was obviously another woman next to Gregory’s side — a woman that he knew, at first glance, was not Gregory’s cup of tea. What kind of mind games was he playing?
Massimo Nolan was more confused than before.
He finally gave a helpless sigh of defeat, shook his head, and followed the others out.
Two cars pulled up — a black Rolls-Royce and a dark gray Lexus.
