Jorvik did not ask Gabrielle to respond immediately.
“Don't rush to answer me. Get some rest first, and we can talk about it in a couple of days.”
After a few days of recovery, Gabrielle was able to eat some liquid food, and her complexion had improved considerably.
Jorvik placed the soup in front of her. “Be careful, it's hot. Eat slowly.”
Gabrielle grabbed his wrist. “Jorvik, there’s something I want to tell you.”
She looked at Jorvik, at his vibrant face, and recalled all the things he had done for her during this time.
Whether it was the fresh flowers delivered daily, the bowls of soup he had personally prepared,
or the meticulous care he had provided before and after the surgery.
These were all small things.
But it was these small things that mattered to Gabrielle.
The little moments of the past surged like a tide in her chest, and the seeds buried deep in her heart, nourished by this irrigation, broke through the soil, taking root and sprouting.
