Ella shook her head.
"I’ve got no idea. When they sent me out, my sister and Leanne were still back there."
"Back where exactly?"
Ella's face fell. "They blindfolded me. I couldn’t see a thing."
Alan Parker and Arthur Hawthorne shared a quick glance, and both looked visibly disappointed.
After a beat, Arthur’s eyes lit up.
"Hey, kiddo, can you remember hearing anything specific when they were taking you out?"
Ella blinked, caught off guard.
"Take your time, no pressure," he said gently.
It had been over two weeks since she was brought out. Everything in her memory felt jumbled. She squeezed her eyes shut and tried to focus.
"There was... wind. And I think I heard waves."
Waves?
Alan and Arthur looked at each other, then said in unison, "Xinban."
Xinban County, about 40 kilometers from Clearford, was a popular getaway spot in Yland. The Tattaya Beach there was especially known for beach weddings favored by locals.
