Chapter 284
While Jane was watching Big Brother, the other five brothers and Sister Mina's hands simultaneously reached for the last tiger skin cake on the plate.
With her own effort, Mina blocked the five big hands of the brothers with her two claws. Her small eyes swept over the faces of the five brothers. "I thought you all don't eat sweets?"
The five brothers didn't want to fight over food with her and were about to let her have it.
Just then, Bryan's naughty hand effortlessly reached for the last cake. "Since you all seem so bothered, I won't be."
With that, he "awwooo"ed and swallowed the last little cake in one bite, patting his stomach, "I'm still so hungry. Fendi, when are we having dinner?"
Jane, with her eyes bright as stars, looked at him, "Brother, are you always this hungry recently?"
"Of course!" Bryan said somewhat proudly, "Your brother just added two more boxing classes for myself. With such a huge amount of exercise every day, how can I not be hungry?"
"But Brother, you eat so much, yet you still lost weight!"
"I did?" Bryan touched his own cheek.
The others also looked at Bryan.
Bryan's face, which used to have some baby fat, now had prominent cheekbones.
This made his facial features look more rugged and three-dimensional. It looked nice, but it was a bit off when looking at it.
"Hey! If I've lost weight, it means that my exercise makes me eat not enough." Bryan said unconcernedly, "I will just eat a bit more in the future."
However, the first reaction from John, who used to study medicine, was whether Bryan had got diabetes. He called Dylan directly and arranged a check-up for Bryan.
Bryan's face fell instantly, "Tyrant, wasn't it just eating a few more bowls of your rice? We are brothers after all. Do you really need to send me to the hospital over a couple of bowls of rice?"
"The physical examination is scheduled. If you don’t want to go there yourself tomorrow, I’ll have someone take you there, you figure it out!" Bryan's howl echoed through the entire villa in an instant.
Jane, with her short legs, ran over to Bryan, took his hand, and said in a milky voice: "Brother, don’t be scared, Jane will accompany you to the hospital tomorrow!"
Bryan immediately puffed his chest, "Who said I was scared? Do you think your brother is a coward who is even afraid of physical examinations? The point is, I'm just not cool about how someone is clearly taking this opportunity to avenge me because I ate two more bowls of his food!"
"Jane knows, brother is going to be a boxing king in the future, he is brave!" Jane said in a silky voice.
Neither Jane nor the rest would disappoint Bryan.
After dinner.
Under the resentful gazes of the other three brothers, Jane chose Samuel to tell her bedtime stories.
Samuel , joyfully holding Jane, gave a smug look to his other three brothers, "How is it? Despite spending the least time at home, I’m still the sister's favorite brother!"
"Hmph!" Jordan snorted coldly, "Our sister just feels sorry because you spend little time at home, and we are all generous, just not competing with you!"
"Humph, you are just jealous of me!" Samuel held Jane proudly and went upstairs.
John looking at the figure of Samuel holding the Jane and going upstairs, a warm smile flashed in his deep eyes: It's so good to have a sister, even the previously cold and weary Samuel has become lively.
Before Jane came back, even when their parents were still around, Samuel would only come back to complete the task of eating the New Year’s Eve dinner every year.
Thinking about the New Year in the past, even if Bryan set off firecrackers in a lively manner, it was still cold and clear.
This year...
Things should be different now!
Samuel carried Jane back to the room.
Jane, with her tiny legs curled up, sat on the rosy, floral bed. Just as Samuel picked up the storybook, she grasped his hand.
Jane puckered up her pink-lipped mouth, as cute as cherry petals. Swinging Samuel's hand, acting all affectionate, she asked, "Brother Samuel, Brother Lucas have already moved back. Will you move back too?"
Samuel gently ruffled Jane's soft hair, this time without any refusal, directly nodding his head in agreement: "Okay!"
Jane's eyes shone like the starry orchestra of the universe, making her look exceptionally adorable. Her tiny, lotus- like hands pushed against the bed as she climbed up. Excitedly, she spun around and wiggled her little backside.
Tilting up her face, shining with brilliant smiles, and displaying her eight pearly white baby teeth, she said, "Brother Samuel, you returned too. Now, our family can finally live together. That's so great! Jane is so happy!"
With that, she used both her hands and feet to get off the bed and scampered out of the room, heading out to share this good news with her other brothers and sisters.
John said, "If he wants to move back, just clean up a room for him."
Lucas said dismissively, "Hmph, he decides to move back as soon as I return; it's clear he's just trying to fight for Little Sister's attention."
Jordan groaned: "Oh boy, now I have to see his annoying face every day. What a headache!"
Bryan stated indifferently: "Well, it doesn't matter whether he is back or not. It doesn't make any difference to me."
…
Jane: "…"
If not for her sharp eyes, catching the suppressed corners of their mouths turned upward, she would have really believed their teasing.
So, it turns out this older brother hates himself as much as he loves himself--a characteristic that runs in the family.
Young Jane has returned to his room. Samuel tucks him into bed, switches off the main lights, turns on the nightlight, and then softly starts to read him a story.
Jane was indeed tired today. Samuel hadn't even finished one story before the young lad drifted off into the land of dreams.
Carefully, Samuel turned off the nightlight and made his way soft-footed out of the young girl's room.
In the pitch darkness, a dark figure of a cat silently slipped in through the window into Jane's room.
Following it was a figure clad in all black: studded black leather jacket, black biker pants, and a cool pair of black Doc Martens. This was Daisy.
"Bark, bark--"
Daisy had just entered when the sound of two tender barks greeted her ears.
Frowning slightly, Daisy shot a fierce look at puppy, "Stupid puppy, be quiet!"
Dog, with his head drooping, tail between his legs, and his little bum swaying, sauntered back to his puppy bed.
The black cat, from its high perch, cast a disdainful gaze down at the puppy, "Stupid dogs are always so stupid!"
Once Daisy had entered the room, she leaned coolly against the wall. Her obsidian-like eyes emotionlessly watching over the sweetly-sleeping Jane on the bed.
