Chapter 172
Upon hearing Isaiah twist the facts about what had happened, Harold hurriedly tried to explain the situation. "Ms. Clark, please don't listen to his nonsense. I didn't threaten him, I—"
"There's no need to say anything more. I hereby declare that you and Henderson Group are permanently blacklisted by Union Bank!" Lucia didn't bother listening to his explanation and made her decision on the spot.
"Threatening a manager, assaulting security, disrupting the normal order of the bank—these actions have serious legal consequences," Lucia stated.
She then turned to the security guards behind her and ordered, "Call the police immediately and have them arrested!"
Harold's face turned deathly pale, and a look of despair flashed across his eyes. He hadn't expected things to escalate this far.
Initially, he thought he could simply try another bank if his loan application was rejected, but if Union Bank blacklisted him, no other bank would be willing to offer him a loan either.
"Yes. Arrest them! I hope you two can still act so smug when you're being shoved into the back of a police car," Isaiah mocked, wiping the corner of his mouth and glaring triumphantly at Harold and Yolanda.
Then, turning his gaze specifically to Yolanda, he pointed at her and shouted, "Especially you! Someone as ugly as you shouldn't even be out in public. You're bringing down the image of the city.
"From now on, I suggest you stay home. Just looking at that disgusting face of yours is revolting!"
Yolanda's expression turned icy at his words. She stepped forward and raised her hand swiftly. A crisp slap echoed through the room, and a trickle of blood dripped down from the corner of Isaiah's mouth.
Isaiah let out a scream and jerked his head up, his face contorted with rage. "How dare you hit me? Ms. Clark, these people have completely lost it!"
Lucia's expression darkened as well. She hadn't expected Yolanda to be so brazen. "I'm formally notifying you that all members of the Henderson family are hereby permanently blacklisted from our bank! We won't show leniency toward people like you!"
Yolanda let out a cold laugh. "That's exactly what I wanted to say to you. You treat bank regulations as a joke, so don't expect to be working here any longer."
"What?" Isaiah looked at her as if she were out of her mind. "Did you forget to take your meds before coming out today?"
Harold was equally shocked by Yolanda's words. How could his worthless daughter have the audacity to say something like that?
Lucia narrowed her eyes, staring hard at Yolanda. "Repeat what you just said!"
"You're both fired," Yolanda declared calmly.
Isaiah and Lucia exchanged glances and then burst into uncontrollable laughter. Even the security guards standing behind them sneered at Yolanda with mocking expressions.
"Who do you think you are?"
"If you really had the power to fire us, would your father have been here groveling for a measly loan?"
"You're absolutely delusional!"
The bank employees around them started murmuring amongst themselves as well. Everyone thought Yolanda was just spouting nonsense—no one took her words seriously.
"That's enough, Yolanda! Stop embarrassing us with your words!" Harold hissed.
