Kick away the Suitcase
Diana suddenly came back to her senses, quickly returning her distorted facial features to a gentle and amiable look, and answered in a soft voice, "No, no problem."
Xu Zhili noticed something was amiss, and asked, "Do you two know each other?"
"We, uh..." Diana glanced at Valentina, then at the Xu brothers, her heart inevitably filled with anxiety and confusion.
As Diana hesitated whether to acknowledge whether they knew each other, Valentina, pushing her suitcase, walked away as if she was a stranger to Diana.
"I'll see you at grandfather's house tonight—wait for me, Mo." Xu Zhili swiftly finished his sentence, running off after Valentina.
Diana's dim eyes were fixed on the receding back view of Valentina.
She tightly clutched the strap of her bag, her gaze was so fierce as if she could eat people, so much so that she didn't even notice Paul calling her.
"Huh? Elder Paul, are you calling me?"
"Are you alright?" Paul expressed concern again.
"Sorry, I'm feeling a bit unwell, I won't be able to discuss the math problems with you today," Diana said, seizing the opportunity.
Paul's eyebrows slightly furrowed unconsciously, but out of politeness, he didn't say anything. He encouraged her to go back to the dorms and rest well, saying they'll tackle the math problems some other day.
After Xu Zhili helped Valentina with her registration, he escorted her to her dormitory.
As Valentina arrived late, three of the four dormitory beds were already occupied.
When she pushed open the door, her three roommates turned to look at her. After a moment of being marvelled by her beauty, their expressions quickly became complicated. The two in front exchanged a silent glance, and then somewhat reluctantly smiled at Valentina.
The curly-haired girl sitting on the bed behind, polishing her nails, was looking at Valentina with a displeased face. Her eyes, filled with impoliteness, roved up and down Valentina, displaying evident jealousy.
"Mo junior sister, I'll leave you here. If you need something, come and find me at the student union." Xu Zhi Li reluctantly told Valentina.
Roommates noticed Xu Zhi Li standing at the door, and shared a knowing look. The other two girls, who had formerly concealed their feelings better, had now unveiled their emotions due to Xu Zhi Li.
"Oh, isn't this our student union president? I thought you were too busy to pay special attention to anyone." The curly-haired girl scathingly commented and shot a disgusted look at Valentina.
When they first arrived, they had eagerly tried to get the handsome Xu Zhi Li to help them sign up, but he had paid them no heed and had other seniors take care of them.
And yet, when it came to Valentina, he seemed to be more than eager.
Xu Zhi Li didn't bother to argue with them.
He just said a word to Valentina and then left.
Valentina closed the door behind her and pushed her luggage into the dormitory. The atmosphere in the dorm was obviously altered due to the presence of Xu Zhi Li.
The dormitories at Biddeford University are quite commendable, with individual beds and desks. They have all the necessary living supplies and appliances, including a TV, refrigerator, and washing machine.
Everything was prepared for them, and the room was spacious.
Valentina walked towards the only empty bed.
However, she found that the name on the small tag hanging on the bed wasn't hers, but "Li Shi Yin".
She turned around and saw her name hanging on the bed across hers.
The curly-haired girl was sitting on her bed with her legs raised.
Valentina cast her eyes down at her, "Move aside."
Unphased, Li Shi Yin, who was in the midst of polishing her nails, didn't even lift her head. "I don't like that bunk bed anymore. You can have it. I want yours."
Once she finished, she stretched her hand out for admiration.
Their two other roommates watched the drama unfold from the sidelines.
Not caring to waste her breath, Valentina seized Li Shi Yin's wrist in a swift motion and heaved her off the bed. Alongside, she kicked open Li Shi Yin's suitcase with a swift blow.
Li Shi Yin let out a scream. Being dressed in high heels, she almost lost her balance and tripped.
The spectacle took the two other roommates by surprise.
Barely managing to stay upright, Li Shi Yin turned to see her suitcase tipped over.
"You dare kick my suitcase!" Her fury was palpable. She strode over, ready to give Valentina a piece of her mind, all the while hurling obscenities.
But Valentina easily seized her swinging wrist in midair.
"You better let go of me quick, you filthy hands! Do you know who I am? I can have you kicked out of the Capital University if I wanted to.”
But Valentina just tightened her grip a little more.
Pain exploded in Li Shi Yin's hand. She began screeching and hopping around wildly on the spot, her face twisted in agony. She seemed to only know the pain, feeling as if her bones were crushed, her mind a blank of white.
Just as abruptly, Valentina tossed her onto the ground.
The sight of Li Shi Yin's inflamed, bruised wrist rendered the two roommates horrified.
They hadn't expected Valentina to be so ruthless.
Valentina swept all of Li Shi Yin's belongings, nail polish, phone and whatnot from her bed into the dustbin. Then, with one well-aimed kick, she knocked it onto Li Shi Yin's bed, where it spilled over.
She sat down and started packing her luggage.
Li Shi Yin sat on the ground, too pained to get up. Startled by the terrifying look of her own wrist, she wondered if her bone was broken. When the trash can whizzed past her ear, she was shocked, and her wails of pain stopped.
Coming to her senses, Li Shi Yin yelled at her two roommates, "Why aren't you both helping me up? Have you both died?!"
The two roommates hurried over to help Li Shi Yin.
Apparently, both of them had become Li Shi Yin's lackeys.
Who could blame them? They were kids from ordinary families, while Li Shi Yin was not only wealthy but also a local from Biddeford.
Li Shi Yin, who had always been spoiled since she was a kid, had never been treated in such a way. She threatened Valentina angrily, "Just you wait."
Then she urged her two roommates to escort her to the infirmary.
There wasn't much for Valentina to pack. She took out her clothes and put them into the wardrobe, then placed her laptop on the desk. That's about it.
She grabbed her phone and lounged on her bed.
She noticed messages from both Leng Yuan Jun and Augus.
She replied to Augus first and chatted with him for a while.
Then she stingily replied a word of thanks to Mr. William, who rather begrudgingly congratulated her on her school life and wished her college life to be joyful.
Upon receiving this short "Thank you", William held his phone for a while, and as expected, there was no following message.
At this moment,
Valentina was suddenly added to the class group by the class advisor.
The group chat was very lively, everyone was very active, and as soon as Valentina joined, quite a few people mentioned her, asking her to post a photo as the newcomer.
One of them named "Tang Xiaoguo" mentioned her the most, asking her to post a photo.
Cherry: 【Valentina? You can't be the genius from Mapleville who got 690 points without writing the Chinese composition, right?】
Brevity: 【Damn, I know her. I heard our principal personally went to her house to snatch her away from other schools!】
Xiaolu: 【I can't believe I'm in the same department, even in the same class as the genius. I beseech to witness the genius' talent!】
Cherry: 【@Valentina, could the genius tell us why you didn't write the Chinese composition? I've been curious about it all summer!】
Tang Xiaoguo: 【If she doesn't want to talk, don't mention her anymore. She's a top student, not like us. Let's continue with our chat.】
Brevity: 【Alright then, @Tang Xiaoguo, since the genius won't share a photo, can our class belle share more photos?】
Tang Xiaoguo: 【Um...Alright then.】
Tang Xiaoguo seemed a bit unwilling, but she immediately posted seven selfies.
Makeup, filters, beautifying effect, Photoshop, none were missed.
Suddenly, the entire screen was filled with her photos, and upon a closer look, her face shape was so altered that the contour was blurred, and the sides were still asymmetrical.
San Yan Liu Yu:【Love it, love it/ Love emoji】
Che Li Zi:【If other classes have no gorgeous girls, then Tang Xiao Guo will become our department's angel ~】
Tutor:【Ehm... Why don't you wait until you meet Mo at tomorrow's military training and then decide?】
San Yan Liu Yu:【Tutor, are you implying that Mo, the straight-A student, is prettier than Tang Xiao Guo?】
Shiyue Tian:【Prettier than the class belle? Is that true or false? Requesting photographic evidence!】
Tang Xiao Guo:【I don't know if I should say this, but I have accidentally come across a video interview of Mo, the straight-A student, after her college entrance examination. Her facial features are pretty, but maybe she's a little overweight? No offense intended; just discussing the matter as it stands.】
San Yan Liu Yu:【Dare to ask, how overweight?】
Tang Xiao Guo:【She's probably not over 150 lbs, right? But she is good at her studies and basically doesn't care about her appearance or figure, okay?】
Che Li Zi:【Excuse me; I will go pack my luggage】
Tutor: 【...】
