The Ruler of Chadron
On the field, a group of mercenary leaders stood aghast, staring at the girl standing before them. Old nightmares resurfaced.
Slowly lifting her eyes, Valentina declared, "I am the second Unknown. From now on, if anyone dares to demean the Blackwater or runs riot on my territory, they will end up just like this."
As her words fell, she stretched out her hand and threw the dagger in her hand like a dart, embedding it into the wall.
Everyone took a closer look and were startled to see the blade of the dagger was completely embedded in the wall, only the hilt remained outside.
The terrifying display of force left everyone present astounded.
Valentina continued, "Over the past year, anyone who has robbed the Blackwater must give back double. Don't make me come to collect."
William let out a soft sigh. His tense face gradually relaxed, and a faint smile graced his lips.
He stood upright and clapped his hands.
The sound of the applause broke the silence, drawing everyone's attention.
Valentina lifted her head, looking towards the second floor. Their gazes met.
The past two years' Dueling Competition hadn't been particularly exciting, and everyone thought this final one would be no exception.
Only a few were waiting to laugh at the Blackwater.
That year, Unknown had become a legend that would forever echo through the fighting arena.
But tonight, Valentina appeared.
And the joke at the expense of the Blackwater never materialized.
A few years ago, a girl made her name in the dueling ring. The name "Unknown" echoed throughout Chadron, and everyone's expression changed in fear when it was mentioned.
Almost the entire Chadron experienced the fear of being dominated by Unknown.
And today, another girl shocked everyone once again.
She made her name in Chadron.
The news spread quickly.
A private island.
"Boss, a young girl appeared in this year's Dueling Competition in Chadron. Her skills and demeanor are strikingly similar to our deceased organization member, Victoria, who became famous in a similar way at the Dueling Competition."
"Victoria is someone the Shadow spent countless efforts to cultivate. Nobody else in this world deserves to be compared with her."
"But not only is she similar to Victoria, she also claims to be the boss of the Blackwater."
"The blackwater?"
"Yes, the Blackwater Mercenary Group, one of the forces under Victoria's command."
Nobody knows that Victoria, the genius assassin who was coveted by countless people and adorned with numerous glories, was constantly living under the Shadow's surveillance.
After witnessing Victoria's strength time and again, the Shadow knew they could no longer control her and destroyed their prized creation with their own hands.
"There are no such coincidences in this world. Find out her background. I want to know if she has any connection with Victoria."
"Boss, do you think she could be an assassin secretly trained by Victoria? If she is, she will surely seek revenge for Victoria. We have to take this seriously. And her rebuilding Victoria's power could very well be to counter us."
But her approach was a bit too ostentatious.
The man who was called the boss said, "If so, kill her outright."
"There's another thing. She has an unusual relationship with the God Armed Alliance in Chadron. It might be a bit troublesome to lay hands on her."
Three days later.
Bruno sat in the car, watching the headquarters of the God Armed Alliance before his eyes, his mind filled with mixed feelings.
The appearance of Valentina brought them hope. They were naturally happy about it. But she also reminded them of their former boss. Especially that day in the dueling ring, they really saw the Shadow of their boss Unknown in Valentina.
They were just the same.
Valentina might be even more powerful than Unknown.
But in their hearts, no one could replace Unknown.
Valentina arrived before them and was currently waiting for them in one of the halls of the headquarters of the God Armed Alliance.
"Miss Ricardo, you are really good at not revealing your strength," said William, sitting on the sofa, his long legs crossed, his hands clasped on his thigh.
Valentina replied in a calm and steady tone, "Aren't you the same?"
William smiled, "Compared to you, I'm far behind. I'm just a businessman, recruiting and buying with money, but you are different. No amount of money can buy or compare to such skills." He then added, "Since our identities are out in the open, shouldn't we speak frankly?"
"What do you want to know?"
"In addition to sightseeing, you should have other things to do in Chadron, right? Perhaps I can help."
"There indeed is."
William slightly raised an eyebrow.
"Losing weight and exercising."
Valentina wasn't really talking nonsense - one of her purposes of coming to Chadron was indeed to improve her physical condition.
Leonard almost knelt when he heard this. Was killing all directions in the arena called exercising?
Fine, she was amazing. Whatever she said.
William nodded slightly with a smile. "Why would you choose a declining mercenary group like the Blackwater? Is it related to Unknown? I heard Unknown is dead and wonder if it is true. Do you know her?"
"Mr. Felton, are you very interested in Unknown?"
"To tell you the truth, Unknown once bombed my headquarters. The few buildings on the left have been rebuilt."
It was actually found out.
Valentina remained calm and advised gently, "When a person dies, his debts are canceled. Mr. Felton, as a magnanimous person, why bother with a dead person?"
"Yes, I just don't know where I had offended her. I just want to know the reason."
The reason?
She simply liked to blow things up, and she happened to be bored at the time. Was it not okay to be displeased with the actions of the God Armed Alliance?
"She just likes bombing things. Mr. Felton, you don't have to think too much."
"Bombing things?" William recalled Isaias's village that had been blown up.
Was this fondness for bombing common?
Or did all young girls like such violent and dangerous acts?
"You seem to be well acquainted with her."
"It's alright. Did you place a bet that day?"
Seeing Valentina change the subject, William cooperated very well. "No." Immediately after, a faint smile appeared in his eyes as he looked at Valentina.
Those eyes seemed to say, "So you still owe me."
"Mr. Felton, you come from a big family, so you surely don't lack money."
"Indeed, I don't lack money, so perhaps you can repay me in another way."
"Like what?"
William stared at her, his eyes flickering bright and dark. He was thinking.
Before he could fully explain, there was a noise outside the front door.
It was Bruno and his group.
They came here today for the matter of the Blackwater.
They wanted to acknowledge Valentina as their boss and re-establish Blackwater, but they needed to get the approval of the God Armed Alliance and follow the procedure.
"Boss." Bruno walked in, calling out to Valentina.
They were used to calling Unknown the boss, and suddenly switching to someone else, they felt somewhat uncomfortable.
"Yeah." Valentina, however, didn't feel uncomfortable at all, because it was still her.
Bruno and the others' gaze then turned to William on the couch.
They recognized him as the man who stood beside Valentina at the Dueling Competition.
Bruno asked, "This is..."
Valentina looked at William, her eyes lit up with a smile. Casually, she said, "The boss of the God Armed Alliance, the ruler of Chadron."
Bruno and the rest were startled.
Each of them incredulously looked at William.
The boss of the God Armed Alliance was the most mysterious figure on Chadron, bar none.
No one in Chadron should have ever seen his real face. Each time the God Armed Alliance had any dealings, they were only ever with his subordinates.
Any matter in Chadron would be handled by his subordinates.
Someone had tried to investigate his background, but not a single person was able to provide any information.
Some even went missing while investigating.
But they met such a legendary figure today.
He was actually so young.
More importantly, he seemed to have a significant connection with their current boss.
"Where is Luke?" asked Valentina, not having seen Luke since the Dueling Competition.
Bruno, regaining his senses, said, "Luke, he... he went to set a tombstone for our previous boss."
Valentina's eyebrows involuntarily twitched. "I'm still aliv..."
William raised an eyebrow slightly and looked her.
Valentina immediately waved her hand. "Alright, let him do that. That's reasonable."
