VS 35
"She... she said she's what?" Leonard couldn't help but turn and ask William beside him, his mind essentially breaking down.
The leader of the Blackwater?
Wasn't she just an ordinary high school graduate from a small place - the River District in Mapleville? How did she become the leader of the Blackwater Mercenary Group?
Hold on, which ordinary student could kick around a mercenary with a single foot?
Looking at the girl whose aura was powerful enough to intimidate others, Leonard was so dumbfounded that his facial features twisted. The bombardment of shocking news left him unable to digest everything and he looked somewhat dazed at the moment.
There was dead silence all around.
Valentina impatiently yelled out, "Are you scared to fight? Do you think you're superior, or are you afraid that losing to a woman like me would embarrass you and you would no longer be able to have a foothold in Chadron?"
She sneered and said mockingly, "A few years ago, you all were pinned down by Unknown, but now you are living well in Chadron."
So humiliated, the bosses of the mercenary groups finally couldn't sit still. More accurately, they were caught in a predicament. They could only silently curse in their hearts and jump down one after another.
The bosses of all the mercenary groups were influential figures in Chadron. Naturally, they had impressive fighting skills. Moreover, many of them even came from special forces.
Each of them was an elite with extraordinary combat power.
And now, Valentina was facing a total of 35 of them!
This was clearly an elite special forces unit!
Just the formation and momentum were enough to scare people to death.
"You finally dared to come down," Valentina's face remained indifferent.
The leaders of the mercenary group tried to find a trace of fear or nervousness in her eyes, but they found none, not even a hint of caution. Instead, there was excitement.
"Are you certain you want to take on all of us yourself?"
"Girl, it's not too late to leave now. No one will laugh at you. Don't go getting yourself killed just to show off."
Valentina said, "Too bad, you won't have the chance to leave. You've been suppressing the Blackwater for over a year. Now it's time to get even with it."
"You will pay for your ignorance."
"Humph," Valentina scoffed. "Don't forget it was a girl like me who had you crawling at her feet years ago."
"Is she planning to face off against thirty-five people by herself? Has she gone mad?"
"How many did Unknown take on that year? Thirty-three, and the first few she fought separately. She's even taking on two more than Unknown."
"Is she trying to break Unknown's record? Is she sure she isn't courting death?"
"She must've exhausted quite a bit of stamina already. With this many opponents, thirty-five blows would leave her out of strength."
"Well... One against thirty-five, is that even possible?" Bademan looked concerned.
Bruno was also inwardly anxious.
Although he had guessed that Valentina wouldn't be satisfied with only two or three matches, he didn't expect her to dare to challenge thirty-five leaders of the mercenary groups at once.
Valentina was indeed formidable, but even their former leader had never taken on thirty-five at the same time.
These guys' skills are way beyond average mercenaries.
Bruno wanted to go down and stop Valentina, telling her not to overdo it.
Leonard said, "Mr. William, aren't you going to step in? One against thirty-five, she's just courting death."
It wasn't just Leonard who felt that Valentina was overconfident and heading straight for her doom, nearly everyone present felt the same.
One against thirty-five was impossible for anyone.
But William didn't think so.
He bent his upright body, both hands supporting the railing, eyes fixated on the arena below. He remained silent with an illuminating gaze.
In the large arena, the leaders of the mercenaries surrounded Valentina from all sides, ready for the fight.
There were enmities among them. But at this moment, they had formed a united front with only one goal.
They knew that winning would bring no honor, but losing...
Unknown had made them a laughingstock and was also their nightmare. Now, looking at Valentina who resembled Unknown and fancied herself as the second Unknown to trample them underfoot, they all had the same thought in their hearts, which was to tear her apart!
They'd vent their hatred for Unknown on her!
Their eyes became more and more fierce when they looked at Valentina, with killing intent seeping out.
Finally, someone made a move.
With a loud shout, one of them made the first attack, bursting forward with unstoppable momentum, his fist swooping towards Valentina, brimming with deadly wind.
Valentina made a move, easily catching the punch, and then swiftly broke his arm with a punch.
With a single "crack," the sound was accompanied by a pitiful howl.
Almost at the same time, Valentina raised her leg and kicked the person rushing at her away.
She dodged another person's advance and then swiftly retaliated.
Without any flashy maneuvers, every punch and kick Valentina delivered was accurately aimed at the opponents' vital areas.
Her combat technique was fierce and decisive. It was a standard special forces combat style but with a stronger lethality.
She stepped on another person's chest, used it to propel herself into midair, and delivered a knee-jab straight to his temple.
Her petite figure darted through the crowd at a speed they could hardly keep up with.
Several times, they could not make out exactly what had happened before someone fell. Her movements seemed eerily familiar, instantly attracting everyone's attention as they crowded around to watch with wide-eyed interest.
Finally, they saw it clearly.
Valentina was seen pinching their arms, shoulder blades, or necks with two fingers, and although it didn't seem like she used much force, those men were screaming in pain, losing their ability to fight in an instant.
The strange technique caused a sensation among the spectators.
"Did you see her move just now? It's exactly like that of Unknown from years ago!" someone shouted out.
The eyes of Bruno and the others were lit up, especially Luke's.
In this world, no one was more knowledgeable about the human body's acupuncture points than Valentina.
One after another, bodies began to fall like dominos.
In just the blink of an eye, a pile of bodies hit the ground.
Minutes later, calm returned to the battleground, and the battle was over.
Everyone looked over to see that only Valentina was standing in the dueling ring where dozens of people had stood just moments ago. At her feet, those leaders were sprawled on the ground, some clutching their arms, others curled up, struggling in pain.
Leonard stood in place, too shocked to say anything.
A deafening silence descended.
No one noticed that a man lying on the ground quietly drew a dagger from his clothes. He suddenly got up, lunging at Valentina who was standing with her back towards him.
This man was the leader of the Hurricane Mercenaries.
William on the second floor changed his expression, but before he could warn Valentina, she acted as if she had eyes on the back of her head.
The leader of the Hurricane felt a blur in front of him, missing his stab.
The next moment, Valentina appeared at his side like a ghost.
Immediately after, the dagger in his hand vanished.
No one at the scene could see clearly how the dagger ended up in Valentina's hand. All they saw was a flash of cold light, followed by splattering blood.
She actually severed the man's tendons!
Everyone could almost feel a pang in their hands.
Valentina moved so fast that the boss of the Hurricane didn't even feel the pain at first. It was only a few seconds later that the heart-wrenching scream erupted, making people's scalps tingle.
Valentina slightly furrowed her brows, then gently raised her hand, wiping off the spots of blood that had splattered onto her cheeks.
A bloodstain remained on Valentina's clean cheek.
The prominent bloodstain contrasted with her icy cold eyes.
