I Have a Bad Temper

"How dare you hit my son, you dead girl! Today, you, your crippled brother, and your entire family will be doomed!" The woman's face, filled with spite and resentment, was twisted. She wished she could skin alive Valentina and Augus. Valentina quickly tightened her grip on the baseball bat. A flash of ruthlessness crossed her pretty face, and the next second she fiercely swung the bat at the woman's head. The people at the scene screamed in fright. Even a few timid boys covered their eyes. Augus was also startled and attempted to stop her, but it was too late. The bat stopped one centimeter away from the woman's cheek. Everyone held their breath in fear, their mouths slightly gaping. The scene of cruel violence did not happen, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief, swallowing their saliva nervously. The moment the bat swung, the woman was scared into silence, and her mind went blank. The powerful wind brought by the bat, and the hair sweeping across her face, almost popped her eyes out of her sockets. Her knees gave out, and she sat on the ground without moving. Looking at the frightened woman, Valentina's lips slightly lifted into a smile, her eyes filled with amusement, just like a mischievous child successful in her prank. And just when everyone thought it was over, Valentina swiftly turned her hand and mercilessly struck the boy held in the woman's arms on his knee. The sound of the breaking bone registered clearly in everyone's ears, accompanied by the boy's agonized screams that filled the entire place. It made everyone present shiver with a chill running down their spines. The boy lay on the ground, yelling hysterically. Pain forced his breath to come in harsh gasps, and within a few seconds, he was soaked in sweat. "Ah!" A series of shrill screams erupted from the woman's throat. Calling out to her son, she wanted to examine his leg but didn't dare to touch it. She could only desperately call for the doctor. The other boys who bullied Augus together had never seen such a scene. Watching the boy, who was in so much pain that his eyes were rolling back, agonizingly screaming, as well as the frantic woman, they were terrified and kept retreating. Some of them even fell to the ground, staring at the terrifyingly demonic Valentina in horror. The fearful boy, trying to catch his breath, frantically grips his mother's arm, a mix of tears and snot staining his face as he continues to wail. "Mom, it hurts so much. My leg is broken, I'm going to be crippled, it hurts... it hurts so much." Valentina, in a nonchalant tone, replied, "Since you look down on the physically challenged, it's time to truly understand what it's like to be one." "No, you won't be crippled, son. The doctors will fix you - call Jacob, quickly call Jacob, have him bring people here!" The woman shouted hysterically at the bodyguards, her eyes turning bloodshot. She glared at Valentina, "I will kill you with my own hands today." A few burly bodyguards struggle to get up from the ground, baffled by the strength of such a young girl. Augus anxiously watched the bodyguard making the phone call. "Let me tell you. My husband knows people in the underworld. None of you spectators are getting away today." The woman threatened viciously pointing at the school officials. Suddenly, things have escalated. Felix lost all confidence. The woman's husband, Jacob Thomas, was named an exceptional entrepreneur in Mapleville last year. Even Rory had to respect him. Now, considering that Jacob's son had been brutally beaten, he might just demolish this school. Even if there were people backing Rory, they would only protect Valentina and wouldn't care about him. Since they could put him in the position today, they could just as easily take it away tomorrow. Felix was momentarily at a loss, unsure of what would be the right action to take, but he heard a faint sound of laughter. He turned to find Valentina, draping a baseball bat over her shoulders, one hand in her pocket. Despite the casual and lazy stance, there was an inexplicable air of unruliness, arrogance, and domination about her. "The underworld? Tell me about it. I wonder if I know them." As Mapleville was a small town, she doubted she would recognize anyone in the underworld. But perhaps it was someone who worked for her old acquaintances. "You little sassy brat, how dare you speak such big words? You'll soon not even realize your own demise!" The woman gritted her teeth in fury. If only she had the ability to fight back, she would've charged in already. Valentina pointed a baseball bat at the woman, arched her eyebrow slightly, and kindly reminded her, "If you don't want to end up like your son, you'd better watch your tongue." With an emotionless face, she stated, "I've got a bad temper." When she got angry and had a weapon in her hands, she never hesitated to use it! Seeing the baseball bat almost touching her face, the woman instantly lost her bravado. Once the woman behaved, Valentina said to Felix, "Did Rory send you here? Call him." Felix, who was clueless about what to do, immediately took out his phone to call Rory without noticing Valentina casually calling Rory by his first name. Rory? The woman's gaze landed on Valentina, and she wondered if it could be... It wouldn't make sense. A crippled boy and a female student wouldn't be connected to Rory. Then she heard Felix call the person on the other side of the phone, "Mr. Howard..." Rory Howard? The Mayor? Augus, whose mind had been overloaded, instinctively looked over as soon as he heard the word. Valentina reached out and took the phone. "Rory, it's me. My brother has been beaten by a few students at school. Their parents are rich and influential. They brought people to the school and said they were going to kill us. How can we handle this?" Valentina found it a little awkward to be formal towards a middle-aged man in his forties or fifties whom she had met only once. Even in her previous life when she was known as Victoria, she only asked her juniors to call her by her name. Augus put the phone on speaker. Everyone present heard Rory on the other end slam his desk and say authoritatively, "This is outrageous! There's such a gang in my area? Absolutely lawless! Miss Ricardo, how are you? Are you alright? Tell me where you are, and I will send someone ASAP to ensure your and your brother's safety. I will be there shortly. I want to see who the hell they think they are for acting so brazenly." "She claims her husband is the chairman of the S&W Group, and has connections in the underworld." After Valentina finished speaking, Rory furrowed his brows. Upon hearing Rory's silence, the woman on the ground sneered, "Now you know who you've messed with, don't you? But let me tell you. It's too late! Even Rory has to show some respect when he sees my husband." "Thought you were so powerful? Keep calling your backup! I want to see who you can summon to protect you." "Nowadays, any hussy dares to call herself a missy." Felix thought to himself, "It seems that the person behind Rory is not more powerful than Jacob." However, Augus was no longer wondering why his sister would know such a high-ranking figure as the city's mayor and why the mayor respectfully addressed her as "Miss Ricardo". He held his breath, watching Valentina's mobile phone closely, fearing that he alone would drag his entire family down. Unexpectedly, after a two-second silence, Rory snorted dismissively, "Humph, S&W Group, Jacob better have not harmed you and your family, or else I’m guessing he and his company can kiss their futures goodbye! Miss Ricardo, hold on, I will be right there." "There's no need for you to personally handle such a small matter, just make a call to Jacob. If that doesn't work out, give a call to the Felton family."
