Chapter 516 Send Out Wedding Invitation Cards

Verian managed to finish the wedding invitations after working on them for about three to four days. Verian did not know those people who had business connections with Heaton, and hence, she instructed Kush to send out the invitation cards for her. As for Heaton's relatives, she wanted to introduce herself to them. Therefore, she paid a visit to each of his relatives just to send the invitation cards. Fortunately, Heaton did not have many relatives. "Young Mistress, who should we visit first?" Verian arranged the invitation cards neatly and glanced at the recipient's name on the first card. "Let's go to Second Uncle's house first." Second Uncle is Heaton's closest relative, and so, he should be the first to be notified about their wedding. "All right, Young Mistress. I'll go and get the car now." … As she arrived at James' mansion, she alighted the car. With the invitation card in hand, she walked directly toward the gate. James was sitting in a wheelchair as he relaxed under the hot sun. Verian stood by the door, and her mind went blank for a few seconds. As she gazed at the old man, she felt a little uneasy about meeting him. It had been a year since she had met James. Back then, James had thought that she was his biological daughter. No one expected that it was only a mere misunderstanding. It was as if James could sense someone was at the entrance. He turned his head toward the gate, and when he saw Verian, his eyes widened in surprise. "Verian?" Verian pushed the gate open and stepped into the mansion. She walked toward James and greeted him politely. "Second Uncle." "Verian, how are you and Heaton doing lately?" It had been a long time since James saw Verian. Even though he learned that Verian was not his and Jolin's daughter, he still took a liking to her. "Heaton and I are doing fine, Second Uncle. What about you? Are you in good health?" "My health is considered stable; there's nothing serious concerning my body." Verian subconsciously glanced at the second floor. "You're alone at home? Are Second Aunt and Janny at home?" "I've divorced your second aunt." Verian bit her lips. "I didn't know that. I'm sorry to hear that, Second Uncle." "It's all right. Why are you here today?" James reminded her of her purpose there, and so she handed the wedding invitation card to him. "Heaton and I are holding a wedding ceremony next Saturday. I hope that you can attend it." "Of course, I will definitely show up at your wedding." "If there's nothing else, I shall take my leave then. I still have other invitation cards to deliver." James turned the wheelchair toward her direction and called her. "Verian, even though you're not my biological daughter, I feel like we have a strong connection, and we did hit it off. Even though you're not Jolin's biological daughter, you were once her child. You and Heaton nearly broke up due to my misjudgment. I've never had a chance to apologize to you. Do you still hate me for that?" Verian smiled and shook her head. "When I first thought that I was your biological daughter, I did hate you. I hated you for making my mom a mistress in your marriage. I hated myself for being your daughter and hated myself for being related to Heaton and the Fudd family. However, it was just a temporary emotion I had. It was only a misunderstanding; I do not hate you anymore since everything was resolved. Besides, I can't fully blame you. Someone had tampered with the paternity test to make a ruckus." James sighed heavily and nodded in agreement. "I heard that you've found your biological parents. Congratulations." "Thank you." … Verian came out of the mansion and sighed in relief. The knot in her heart had finally been untied. Her driver, Uncle Lewis, opened the car door for her and asked, "Young Mistress, where shall we go next?" "Let's go to Sister-in-law's place." "Noted." To take care of her son Zaynie, Nancy had resigned from the Fudd Group to become a full-time housewife. It was, in fact, good news to Verian. If Nancy were to continue working at the Fudd Group and meet Heaton frequently, the sight of Heaton might evoke the feelings that she was not supposed to have in her heart. Out of sight, out of mind. Since she was a full-time housewife, perhaps Nancy's obsession with Heaton would fade over time. The black Bentley soon arrived at a luxurious residential neighborhood. Uncle Lewis reminded her about their purpose there. "Young Mistress, Elder Young Mistress lives on the 15th floor. Would you like me to accompany you to her unit?" "There's no need for that, Uncle Lewis. You can just wait for me in the car." "All right." Verian walked toward the residential building and pressed the main doorbell. After she talked to Nancy via the doorbell intercom, Nancy opened the controlled door to let Verian into the building. Verian stepped into the building and took the elevator up to the 15thfloor. When she walked out of the elevator, Nancy was already standing by the door, and she looked at her with an aloof expression on her face. "Come in. You don't have to change into house slippers." Verian did not plan on going into her house. She stood outside of Nancy's unit and said, "I don't want to dirty the floor, so I think I won't go in. I'm here to give you an invitation card. I still have many places to go to after this." Nancy glanced at the wedding invitation card in Verian's hand. She frowned. "What's this?" "Heaton and I will hold our wedding next Saturday. I hope that you can attend it." Nancy sneered at her, "Verian, are you here to brag about it?" "I have nothing to say if you're still stubborn about Heaton. I will leave the invitation card here. I won't mind if you don't want to show up next Saturday. However, I think Dad will hope to see Zaynie at the wedding. It has been a long time since he saw him." "If it weren't for you, do you think Zaynie and I will have to move out of the Fudd Family's mansion? If it weren't for you, Zaynie and I could see Dad and Heaton every day." Verian frowned. "Sister-in-law, even if Heaton did not marry me, it will not be you either. Heaton will marry someone else, sooner or later in his life. For the sake of your happiness for the rest of your life, you should remove your feelings and longing toward Heaton so that you won't need to suffer." "You have no right to interfere in my life!" Verian did not want to argue with her. She placed the wedding invitation card on the cabinet at the entryway. "Since I'm not welcomed here, I shall take my leave then." Nancy glanced coldly at the invitation card, and her eyes flashed in anger. After the door was locked, she grabbed the card, tore it into pieces, and threw it into the dustbin! Heaton had promised Briskly to take care of her and her son forever. How could he abandon her and Zaynie and marry someone else? Nancy covered her face with her hands. Grief and resentment welled in her chest. Her emotions roared through her mind, and she felt depressed about it. … As she was out the whole day to deliver invitation cards, she took a shower and went to bed for a rest after dinner. When Heaton came out of the study room, he saw her laid on her stomach. She had a pen in her hand as she scribbled in a book. He approached her and placed his hand on her back. "What are you doing?" Verian nestled her chin on her hand, and with a pen in her other hand, she drew something on the paper. She felt distressed. "Our wedding is next Saturday, and I have yet to decide on my wedding gown." "You're planning to design one for yourself?" "I definitely can't make one in time. But I have some drafts that I drew last time, and I like a few of them. I don't know if you will like it or not. Maybe you can help me choose the best one out of them, and we can send it off to the wedding gown haute couture shop to make it?" "I'm okay with that too. Let me take a look at the drafts." Verian sat up on the bed and flipped the book she had in her hand. She picked a few designs for Heaton to choose from, and in the end, Heaton chose an elegant, fairy-inspired wedding gown. Verian also thought that it would look good on her; she immediately chose that design.
