Chapter 757 Cuddles

After Blaine untied Ruby, Ruby shook her wrists as she lamented, “Man, your underlings made these restraints really tight.” Blaine examined her wrists carefully while holding them. He frowned slightly when he noticed the bruised rope marks on them. The man ran his fingertips on the reddish laceration marks on her wrist. “I’ll grab the medicine.” Just as Blaine was about to get up and grab some medicine, Ruby grabbed him as she said, “Tell me Blaine, do you love me?” Blaine’s eyes twitched and seemed as if he never expected her to ask him that so bluntly and suddenly. However, the man did not deny it as he stared directly into her eyes and muttered, “I do.” “Since when?” “Ten years ago.” “Then, do you still love me even after I’ve left you for ten years?” Blaine’s gaze was completely fixated on her as he said, “I still do.” Ruby took a deep breath and probed further, “You had Old K give me that metal box. Was that silver pistol meant for me?” “Yeah, I gave it to you when I taught you how to shoot a decade ago but you never took it with you.” “What’s the story behind that wooden comb then?” Blaine withdrew his gaze and replied in a deep voice, “Your hair is still caught in its teeth. It’s the only thing that can remind me of your presence so I kept the comb along with your hair till this very day.” Ruby could feel the overwhelming emotion from the man’s eyes as she stared at him. Her heart was trembling and it was unsure if she was hallucinating or if she was touched. “What’s the deal about Cindy then?” “I sponsored her studies when she was still in university because her name is Cindy. She made me think about Softie back then. Since I was just caught in the moment back then, we started talking but I had no feelings for her. She was more like a token of some memories that I can hold onto than anything else. Hence, I treated her well.” Ruby questioned bluntly, “Have you ever slept with her?” Blaine’s expression grew bitter and seemed a little dissatisfied with that question. However, he still answered her, “No.” He had always assumed that his self-control was impeccable except when Ruby was in front of him. Since Ruby had finished asking every single question she had for him, the entire room grew silent at that instant. Blaine held onto her waist, lowered his gaze and asked in a deep voice, “Are you satisfied with my answers?” She was not sure of how she felt at that moment. “I don’t know.” Since she had just restored her memories, her mind was in a complete mess. Even her feelings toward Blaine were in a complete mess. Before she recovered any memories about Blaine, although she knew she had feelings for him, her feelings were significantly weaker than how selflessly Softie was in love with him a decade ago. However, now that her memories were restored, she seemed to have developed new feelings toward Blaine. Such feelings made her feel slightly helpless. Blaine released her, turned around and grabbed a first-aid kit. He then applied some medicine on her wrist. Blaine lowered his head and calmly said, "I don't really care about what your current feelings are toward me but I can give you enough time for you to fall in love with me again." Ruby could not help but burst out laughing from his bold statement which cheered her up. She said, "So, you're saying that no matter what happens, at the end of the day, I still have to fall in love with you?" Blaine stressed, "I said, you'll fall in love with me again." Ruby was speechless. "What if I don't love you as much as I did ten years ago? What would you do?" Blaine smeared the cream on her wrist and said, "I never thought about that. I don't think it'll happen." Ruby thought to herself, 'How arrogant!' "You said that you love me but why didn't you come for me in the last ten years?" Blaine felt bad when she brought that up as he said, "When you fell into the sea back then, the Light Organization made me think that you were actually dead. However, after I found out that you were still alive, you've already forgotten about me and I was unable to reenter your life then." Ruby nodded her head and she could hear how apologetic he sounded in his voice. Ruby could not help but to comfort him, "You know, I'm still alive and I'm standing right in front of you now. You should be happy." As Blaine stared at her beautiful little face, a ripple could be seen in his eyes as he cracked a compassionate smile. He said, "I am happy and although I completely expected that you'd come for me here, at the Western borders, I still feel really emotional and excited when I saw you." Excited? "You looked surprisingly calm for someone who said they were excited though." Blaine grabbed her hand and placed it on the left side of his chest. His heart was racing. Ruby suddenly recalled something when she touched his left chest. She was kidnapped by Paul ten years ago and had been seriously injured by a branding iron. A patch of skin on her left chest had necrosed so Blaine grafted his skin onto hers. After that, that wound completely recovered without a scar. Ruby reached out and gently caressed the patch of skin he donated to her as she asked, "Has the patch regrown itself yet?" Blaine grabbed her little hand and said, "It has long since recovered." … Ruby was behaving quite flirtatiously with him when nightfall came. Now that she had restored her memories from a decade ago, she was quite willing to sleep with Blaine even without the hundred days agreement. Ruby did not bring any clothes along since she left in quite the hurry. Blaine tossed a white T-shirt at her as he said, "Just hang in there for one night. I'll borrow some clothes from the girls at the infirmary for you tomorrow morning so you'll have something to wear for a few days. I'll have someone deliver your clothes over from Glacier City soon." As soon as Ruby got out from the shower in Blaine's white T-shirt, she was hugged by Blaine from behind. The man buried his face in her nape and sighed deeply before saying, "Oh Softie, I always wanted to keep you by my side. It doesn't matter how much we lost or missed out on in the last ten years. That doesn't bother me at all as long as you're by my side." "If that's the case, why did you only demand for a hundred days and not demand for me to stay by your side forever when you made the agreement back then?" Blaine chuckled while he kept his face buried in her nape as he said, "I was afraid of scaring you away." "Why'd you force me to come find you? Since you love me so much and knowing how horrible the living conditions are here at the Western borders, why would you want to make me suffer with you? Aren't you supposed to spoil me when you love me?" Blaine said while hugging her waist, "I was afraid of you running away." Although he did not want her to come to such a horrible place, he was worried about her too when he had to stay at the Western borders for a year and a half. Besides, he no longer thought of her as weak as he once did back then. "What are you afraid of anyway?" Blaine replied in a half-joking tone, "I was afraid of you giving birth to a child with another man in the period of my absence. I will regret everything then. Hence, I'd rather you suffer in this hell hole with me for now than that happening." "Have I ever mentioned to you, Blaine, that I don't like getting married nor do I enjoy being a housewife and even more so, have children? I don't enjoy being a mother, you know." "No worries, I'll do whatever you want." As long as she belonged to him, nothing else mattered anymore. Blaine carried the woman in his arms and onto the bed before caressing her face with his huge hand. He said while staring at her, "This is fine too. You know, since you're currently in the borders and you'll be unable to escape." Ruby chuckled as she reached out to push Blaine's closing chest as she said, "I was willing to allow you to do whatever you wanted to be previously because of our agreement to spend a hundred days together. However, things are different now. I know that you love me but I have a request." Blaine stared at her and was all ears. "You're not allowed to touch me before I actually fall in love with you again." The woman in his arms cracked a cunning look. After a good long while, Blaine climbed off her body, laid in bed and looked at her from his side. This little fox had never changed one bit. Blaine stared at the woman as she boldly grabbed his arm and laid her head on top of it before burying herself into him. She grinned at him and said, "Goodnight, Blaine." Blaine was speechless. She was allowing him to cuddle her but she just would not allow him to touch her? The woman in his embrace was like a prickly hedgehog at this moment. The woman was intentionally hugging and touching him. However, she kept stopping Blaine's movements. The woman even reminded him that he was not allowed to touch her. What kind of double standards was this? When the man that was also her pillow was about to fall asleep, she could not help herself from touching his fit chest and praised, "What a body you have." Blaine was speechless. Blaine was only able to hug the naive little girl to sleep after she was done teasing him.
