Chapter 510 Well... Does The Older Child Miss Monty Too?

Heaton was a little hesitant as he clutched onto his phone. Little Jelly Bean sat cross-legged next to Heaton and blinked excitedly. She said, "Daddy, hurry up and call her!" Heaton raised his brows and stared at his daughter teasingly as he said, "You'll speak to her when it's connected?" Little Jelly Bean gestured an 'Okay' with her hands and said, "Sure, but Daddy, you'll have to take me to the Ferris wheel this weekend, okay?" That little rascal even learned how to make deals. However, the usually-principled Heaton frowned; it meant that he had already agreed to her terms. After he made the call, he handed the phone to Little Jelly Bean. "Be nice." Little Jelly Bean nodded. However, the call went unanswered. Little Jelly Bean frowned as she waited. She said, "Daddy, Monty isn't picking up. Is she asleep?" Heaton glanced at the time; it should be day time in England. She should not be asleep, so why did she not pick up the call? Was she too busy? She had only arrived there, so perhaps she did not have time for calls. Little Jelly Bean had waited for a really long time; she frowned and said, "Daddy, no one is picking up." Heaton did not say anything else. After he comforted Little Jelly Bean, he said, "Sleep well. Remember to call me if you need anything." Heaton ended the call and quietly left his daughter's room. … London, England. After Verian was done with a fashion show, she noticed a missed call on her phone. It was Heaton. She was stunned. The fashion show was too loud, so she did not notice that her phone had run. She immediately called him back. … Little Jelly Bean was playing with Heaton's phone when the call came in. She picked up the call and answered like a little adult. "Hello? Who is it?" "Jelly Bean, it's me, Monty." "Monty?! Monty, why didn't you pick up our call earlier?" Verian explained in a guilty tone, "It was too noisy, so I didn't notice it. Why do you have your daddy's phone?" "I'm playing a game on Daddy's phone." Verian nodded to herself. "Where's your daddy then? Is he with you?" "No. But I can go look for him." Little Jelly Bean pulled her covers aside and climbed out of bed with the phone in her hand. She walked toward Heaton's room in her slippers as she said, "Monty, when are you coming home? My brother has been crying all this time, and we can't get him to stop. Only Monty can! My brother wants to drink milk! Can you come home sooner, Monty?" Verian's heart wrenched; she felt guilty when she heard that her baby had cried constantly. Her emotions flooded her mind as she said, "I'll do my best." "Okay. I slipped today." Verian's chest tightened when she heard that. "How did you slip? Does it hurt? Does your Daddy know? Did he look at your injuries?" "It hurt a lot, Monty, so hurry home, okay? No one is helping me bathe, and I prefer you to do it." Verian sighed. "Hang in there for a couple of days and have Madam Leah bathe you, okay? Don't shower on your own. You'd slip, okay?" "Alright, then. Hurry home, okay?" Little Jelly Bean ran toward Heaton's room and realized that her father was not in his room. So she ran to the study and finally found Heaton. "Daddy, I found you. It's Monty!" The little rascal handed the phone to him before she climbed onto his lap. Heaton hugged Little Jelly Bean as he took the phone. Little Jelly Bean inched closer to listen to their conversation. "Is everything okay, Heaton? I heard Jelly Bean said that Little Pickle was constantly crying, and she also slipped today." Heaton looked at the little rascal in his arms as she shot a victorious wink at him. Heaton cleared his throat and said, "Yeah, both kids are not doing so well." Little Jelly Bean inched closer to the phone and said, "Monty, both kids are not doing well. The older kid isn't happy as well!" Heaton was speechless. Heaton glared at his daughter as he wondered about the nonsense she had spouted. Verian blushed. "Well… Why is the older kid unhappy?" Heaton said in a teasing tone, "The older kid is doing well." "The older kid doesn't miss Monty?" When Verian asked that question, she blushed even harder. How could she have the courage to ask such a shameless question? However, before she could wait for a reply from the 'older kid,' Little Jelly Bean rushed to answer, "The little kid misses you, and the older kid misses you even more!" Heaton could no longer hold himself back; he coughed and glared at his daughter. "What are you interrupting when the adults are talking?" Little Jelly Bean shrugged and waved her tiny hands as she obediently said, "Okay, the child won't speak then." Both adults felt awkward. However, Little Jelly Bean was a quick-witted child; it did not take long for her to climb down from Heaton's lap and rushed out of the room. When she noticed the silence, Verian asked, "Hey… Has Jelly Bean left?" "She left." Verian bit her lips and said, "Then… Do you have anything…that you wanted to tell me?" Perhaps an 'I miss you?' Heaton coughed awkwardly before he said, "Rest well." Verian said, "It's still broad daylight here!" Her tone sounded slightly coquettish. Heaton replied with a calm, "Okay" before he said, "It's night here, and I'd be sleeping soon." "Heaton Fudd!" Verian was a little annoyed. Would a single 'I miss you' hurt him? How could that man be so prideful? "I'm here." Verian stuttered and swiftly said, "I miss you." Since he would not say it, she decided to say it. "What?" Heaton was stunned. "It's your loss if you missed it!" Verian hastily hung up. Heaton stared at his phone after the call ended. He smiled after a couple of seconds. Then the man called Kush. "Book me on a flight to London for the day after tomorrow." He decided to act on his plan. However, he would look like he depended on her if he rushed to meet her. Heaton felt slightly uneasy about his indecisiveness. Women were commonly the dependent partner. After their marriage, the wife would usually cling and watch over their husbands to an extreme length. So, why was his family different from the norm, then? He felt uncomfortable about that. … Verian had planned to take a cab back to her hotel after the phone call ended. After she got out of the fashion show's venue, Bodd came after her. "Wait up, Verian!" Verian turned to look at him. "Bodd? I didn't notice you there. You're also here to watch the show?" "Yeah, but what are you doing in England? Did my uncle agree to you studying in England?" Verian nodded and replied with a smile, "Yeah. He's very supportive of me, but I am not here to study this time." Bodd scratched the back of his head as he asked in a puzzled tone, "Then you are…?" Verian explained, "I rejected the offer to study at the Royal Art Academy, but I requested a tour from Judge Fox. I will return to North City in a few days. My kids are unable to part with me, and I am also unable to part with them." Of course, she had an older kid too.
