Chapter 82
Old Madame Brown glared at me. "You shameless thing, how dare you to ask me? You are the troublemaker!"
"Me?" Her fierce look gave me a chill down my back.
I stayed with Carroll and didn't mess with her!
It was Carroll who messed with her.
Nathan came over and explained for Old Madame Brown. "Grandma didn't sleep well recently. She often has nightmares about Carroll."
"And then?"
I sat on a cushion. Cross-legged, I waited quietly for a further explanation with a photo of Carroll in my arms.
After a contemptuous glance at me, Nathan continued, "Carroll needed his wife because he felt lonely. He questioned Grandma why she hadn't sent you to him. What did you do? You cheated on him with his subordinate."
Went on!
Try your best to make your story up!
I would buy his story if I didn't spend every day with Carroll!
Sitting there, I stared at Nathan. "What else?"
"What? What else?" Nathan looked at Old Madame Brown for help because he didn't know what to say now.
Old Madame Brown curled her lips and said, "What else? I will send you to Carroll!"
Then, I saw that familiar obsidian coffin.
The coffin was tied with red hemp ropes, and there was weird stuff on it too.
It was pitch dark, so the atmosphere became creepy.
I came to my senses and asked, "Do you want to bury me with the dead?"
"Yes."
Old Madame Brown waved her hand. Several bodyguards came over, pulled me by the arm, and pushed me into the deep pit.
After a scream of fear, I fumbled around. "Do you try to bury me alive? There are laws!"
"Old Madame Brown, you're breaking the law!"
I managed to stand up and looked at Old Madame Brown and Nathan.
Old Madame Brown ridiculed after a snort, "Do you know why the Smith family sent you instead of Odette? Do you know why we accepted this change without protest? Because you are a bit*h without a mother. Nobody will look for you even if I bury you alive now."
After a chuckle, Nathan added, "The Smith family sent you over for a ghost marriage! You quite enjoyed your life as a rich widow. You went shopping and dined out! Don't you know that all the wealth of the Brown family is mine? You spent my money, so why should I let you stay alive?"
"Bah! I spent Carroll's money, what does it have to do with you? Even if I die, there is Jason!" I talked back with my head high up.
In fact, I was scared to death, but I didn't show my fear.
I tried to buy time with my argument, so Terry might come to my rescue.
Old Madame Brown brought a lot of men here, so I was afraid that Terry couldn't tackle them alone.
"Jason, Jason, Jason! Jason again!" Irritated, Nathan picked up the shovel next to him and sent the soil into the pit himself.
"My dear Nathan, let her speak! I will send Jason, Barbara, and Charles to keep them company sooner and later. Don't worry!"
Old Madame Brown was good to Nathan though Carroll was also her grandson.
She told a priest to take the shovel away from Nathan for fear that Nathan would get tired.
The priest glanced at me and said, "This is a good family. You will have BMW and a mansion in another world. Why are you unsatisfied?"
Speaking, he spread something weird on me.
Angry, I picked up the stuff and threw it to the ground. "Give you this. Give you the BMW and the mansion in another world. Hell with you!"
"Joey is right. You are an annoying mouse. Come, bury her!"
Old Madame Brown was furious, so her bodyguards began to take action.
Soon, the soil was around my knees.
I wanted to pull out my legs, but two bodyguards held me steady by the shoulders.
I yelled hysterically, "Aren't you afraid that I will come to you as a fierce ghost?"
"Not at all!" Old Madame Brown had a smug smile on her face. "Look at the rite here! You can't become a fierce ghost. No! You won't have a rebirth!"
"How cruel you are! You deserve your sleeplessness!" I felt the clothes on my back soaked with cold sweat.
Old Madame Brown was much more horrible than Laura and Eliane.
Never would Laura and Eliane think of killing me, but Old Madame Brown wanted to die a miserable death.
The soil reached my thigh, so I said through my gritted teeth, "Wait and see. If I die today, Carroll won't spare you! Your death will be ten and even one hundred times more miserable than mine!"
Old Madame Brown and Nathan burst out laughing. "Carroll is dead, and his body is messy. What can he do to us? Your curse won't work!"
"It will! You will regret your bad deed today!" I roared.
I wished Terry at the foot of the mountain heard my voice.
"Bury her now! I'm sick of seeing her face! She knows nothing but curses at such a young age."
Hearing this order, the bodyguards sped up.
That fire happening at my birth failed to kill me, and I would be buried alive by this old woman.
Soon, the soil reached my waist.
I had so many regrets in my short life.
I got an offer from Costsley University but hadn't seen the campus yet.
I hadn't solved the mystery about Granny Luisa or finished the order for Mrs. Anderson.
In short, I had too many things to do. I didn't want to die yet.
Carroll, if you could hear my inner cries, please come to save me!
"Old Madame Brown, who are you going to send my wife to?"
A deep and sexy voice came from behind Old Madame Brown. Startled, she turned around.
I felt relieved at this familiar voice and tried my best to call for help. "Carroll, Carroll, I'm here!"
"You, you, you!" Frightened, Old Madame Brown almost fell down. Looking at Carroll, she said, "Are you a ghost?"
Then, a row of bodyguards appeared behind Carroll, and more than a dozen guns aimed at Old Madame Brown.
Carroll jumped into the pit, scared the men beside me away with one fierce look, and pulled me out of the soil with his hands.
I burst into tears.
Wordless, I cried into Carroll's arms.
