I'm So Kind
Carroll looked down at me, his eyes full of sarcasm. "You know romance? I thought you only know how to eat."
"You only know how to eat!" I rolled my eyes and walked to the fluorescent beach.
This man was really good at ruining the romantic atmosphere.
But my legs were short, and Carroll caught up with me in a few steps.
"Did you find out the reason why Sandy hurt you?"
I sighed and said, "I got it. It was Odette who asked her to hurt me."
Speaking of which, it was really ironic.
My sister actually asked my husband's sister to kill me.
"Now your sister is being forced to eat the poisonous mushroom meal by the bodyguard."
I took off my shoes and socks and rolled up my trousers.
I stepped in carefully.
As soon as I stepped in, the fluorescent light seemed to scatter everywhere, and when the water waves calmed down, they returned to my feet.
Carroll was not far away. He gracefully sat on the beach, and his hands, which usually played with his bracelet, were casually placed on the bent knee.
I looked at him who was like a sculpture out of the corner of my eye and suddenly asked, "Do you feel sorry for her?"
"Compared with letting her eat some poisonous mushrooms, I feel more distressed if you die."
He said it casually.
It didn't sound like a lie.
I played with water on the fluorescent beach. "It seems that your family members don't get along well."
"Sweetie, have you ever heard a big tree catches the wind? When I'm the biggest tree in the Brown family, those winds will come at me."
Carroll sneered and explained.
I nodded but soon shook my head. "We're both rich people, but the Smith family is very united."
"If that's the case, would they want to kill you?"
Hearing what he said, I was instantly speechless. My original intention was that the Brown family was not as harmonious as the Smith family.
My appearance disrupted the harmonious relationship of the Smith family and I became a thorn in their hearts.
I didn't say anything and just kicked the water by the sea.
Carroll suddenly softened his tone. "You're not an extra person."
His words hit me directly in the heart.
I turned around and raised my head with my back to him.
The moonlight was cold, like a lonely lamp hanging in the sky.
No matter how many stars there were, they were very far away from the moon.
I smiled bitterly. "It seems that I have been an extra person since I was born."
It was wrong for me to eat or put on clothes.
I didn't know how it felt to be full before I married Carroll.
In fact, I never expected to become the daughter of the Smith family, nor did I want to take everything from Odette.
But she refused to let me go.
My tears slid down my cheeks.
When it landed on the seawater with the reverse blue light, ripples appeared and the blue light scattered.
But soon it closed again and drowned my worthless tears.
I could feel the look in Carroll's eyes, so I looked back at him.
"Carroll, is it wrong for me to be alive?"
"Isn't the extra one Odette?"
Carroll patted the empty seat next to him.
Only then did I realize that he had taken off his coat and laid it on the beach.
My mood inexplicably improved. I couldn't help teasing him. "You're not as ruthless as the rumors say."
I walked over barefoot and sat on his expensive suit. I rubbed my feet against the sand under my feet.
"Don't make any noise. Just go back and wash your feet."
Carroll pressed down on my leg. "I'm talking to you. Did you hear me?"
"I heard it."
I didn't give up and rubbed my feet until the sand on them was almost gone. Then I found a comfortable position and leaned on him. "You said Odette is the extra one."
"I thought you were deaf!"
Carroll lay on the beach with me in his arms.
I was not used to the hot touch of the sand tide, so I arched and climbed onto his sturdy chest.
It was comfortable!
It seems that ever since my shoulder was injured last time, I had been very fond of sleeping on his chest.
It was neither too soft nor too hard, and the temperature was just right.
"Why don't you speak? Are you dumb?" Carroll rubbed my long hair.
I couldn't see the expression on his face, and I didn't want to speculate too much.
I just felt sleepy and said in a daze, "In fact, it's good. After marrying you, not only can I be full, but I can also feel the warmth of home."
"I like to hear these words. You can say more in the future..."
His warm hands rubbed my head again and again, and soon I fell asleep.
The next morning, I was awakened by the sharp pain on the back of my hand.
Everything in front of me turned from blurry to clear. Finally, I could see my left hand clearly.
A drip?
I struggled to sit up, pursed my lips, and looked at Carroll, who was reading a document on the sofa. "Why am I having a drip again?"
"You are malnourished, weak, and fond of sleep, so you should have a nutrition drip."
Carroll's eyes were still fixed on the document.
What was a nutrition drip?
Was it something about vitamins?
I pouted and muttered, "During this period of time, I've had it many times!"
Finally, Carroll closed the document and came over to take a look at my hand.
My skin was so white due to my long-term malnutrition.
The direction of each blood vessel was clearly visible.
The bruises on the pinhole could not be removed in a short time.
Carroll nodded in agreement. "It's indeed a bit pitiful."
"Then why didn't you pull it out for me?"
I withdrew my hand and raised my left hand which was tied with a bottle high up.
Carroll chose to ignore me. "But you're not in good health."
"It's just malnutrition, isn't it? I can eat!"
I looked at the nurse at the door and begged, "Miss, pull it out for me!"
"Well..." The nurse looked hesitantly at Carroll.
After he lowered his eyes slightly, she finally felt relieved and pulled the needle out of my hand.
I pressed the tape on my hand, yawned, and got back into the quilt.
"Are you sleeping again?" Carroll crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the couch.
That pair of dark eyes stared at me.
He seemed to be waiting for me to say no.
But this time, he thought too much.
"Yes, I'm very sleepy!" I covered my head with a quilt and didn't look at him at all.
However, a few seconds later.
The quilt on my body was lifted up, and I was picked up from the bed like a chick.
"Good kids can't lie. Didn't the kindergarten teacher teach you this?"
He dragged me out of the bedroom and forced me to the dining table.
"I haven't been to a kindergarten." I leaned on the dining table powerlessly.
Carroll sat opposite me and pushed me a glass of hot milk. "Do you want to eat or have an injection?"
There was no need to say that.
Of course, I wanted to eat!
