To Drive Flies away
To be a mistress? Didn't they try to take Carroll away from me?
I pouted and then walked straight over.
"What are you doing here?" Euna was shocked. Frowning, she looked at Owen for help.
I turned on the golden water tap and washed my hands seriously. "Don't be afraid. I'm just a bumpkin. I don't know anything about the business. Moreover, I'm kind-hearted, so I can tell Mr. Carroll that you want to be his mistress."
I finished the washing. Then, I took a tissue and carefully dried the water on my hands.
My speech angered Euna. She grabbed my collar and said viciously, "Don't be smug. There are many women around Carroll. You are just the new vegetable that Carroll has never seen before. You'll suffer more than others if he is tired of you. "
Ha!
I was shocked by this abrupt rudeness.
Euna was as savage as my aunt in the countryside.
"Euna!" Owen berated in a cold voice.
Hearing this, Euna reluctantly let go of my collar. Then, she glared at me and said viciously, "Hmph, just you wait."
I patted my chest and panted heavily. I wasn't afraid of violence, but the two faces of Euna did startle me.
Euna now looked like the vixens in my hometown.
Euna was richer than those vixens. However, those vixens were truer than her. Those vixens, at least, wouldn't have two faces.
They wouldn't treat others with fake enthusiasm.
It took me more than ten seconds to recover from the shock. Then, I immediately retorted, "What am I waiting for? No matter how many mistresses he has, I am still Mrs. Brown. Even if you become his mistress, you are nothing but a concubine. You are far inferior to me in fame."
"Mrs. Brown? Haha!" After a chuckle, Euna clutched my chin with contempt and forcefully turned it to the left and then the right. "You don't know your place, do you? Given his social status, it is common for Mr. Carroll to have several mistresses. You won't even see these women, so what is inferior?
"Remember, I'm Mr. Carroll's childhood sweetheart."
Euna said through her gritted teeth, and every single word was squeezed out of her teeth. Her face became terrible because of hatred.
My chin hurt, so I struggled. Right then, I heard Carroll's voice.
"Who said that I would have mistresses?" The cold voice came from a corner, and the sound caused by the leather shoes was rhythmic.
Startled, Euna immediately withdrew her hand. "Mr. Carroll, why are you here?"
"Mr. Carroll?" I looked back and then walked to Carroll with an aggrieved look. "She, she wants to be your mistress."
Seeing that I pouted, Carroll frowned slightly. He stretched out his hand, straightened my wrinkled collar, and asked, "Did you agree?"
I shook my head. "I didn't. However, she said that she was your childhood sweetheart."
Abruptly, Carroll held my chin with coldness in his eyes. "What happened to your face?"
"Her work," I said truthfully.
Carroll became horrible all of a sudden. I felt a chill down my spine. I looked at Euna and saw her retreat and then hide behind Owen.
"Mr. Carroll, Mr. Carroll, not me, I..." There was panic on the exquisite face of Euna, and tears flew out of her eyes.
Owen protected Euna. He said, "Mr. Carroll, sorry for what my sister did. Given her past with you, she argued with Mrs. Brown out of jealousy..."
"Get lost." Carroll didn't accept the apology. Carroll grabbed Owen by Roll and pushed him back with all his might.
Owen staggered. Just as he tried to dash forward to protect Euna, his shoulders were held by Carroll's bodyguards. Owen couldn't move at all.
"Carroll..."
Euna leaned against the marble sink and then backward as Carroll approached her step by step.
Then, her chin was gripped by Carroll.
I seemed to hear a cracking sound.
Carroll narrowed his eyes. "My childhood sweetheart? She became my wife when she was still in her mother's belly. Who do you think you are?"
Carroll gave Euna a hard push, so Euna hit the stone sink on the waist.
Euna lost her Jason, slid down along the sink, and collapsed on the ground. "You protect her..."
"She is my woman." Carroll took out a handkerchief to wipe his hands in disgust as if he had touched something dirty.
Then, he casually threw the handkerchief with which he had wiped his hands into the trash can, grabbed my hand, and left.
"Mr. Carroll!" Owen caught up with us, and there was still astonishment on his beautiful face. He handed the signed contract to Jason and said, "I've signed the contract."
Carroll paused after a cold snort. Then, he pulled me into the elevator. Before the elevator doors closed up, Carroll said coldly, "Five points cut on the bidding as medical compensation for my wife."
"Five points? Mr. Carroll..." Before Owen finished his argument, the elevator closed up with a ding.
"Girl, you are more interesting than I thought." In the elevator, Carroll looked at me with interest. Obviously, he had overheard my conversation with Euna outside the bathroom.
I raised my head, looked at Carroll, tilted my head, and made a face. "It's part of my job to drive flies away for my husband."
"Very good." Carroll was 1.9 meters tall, one head taller than me. He stretched his hand and pinched my cheek. "Keep up, but you should fight back next time."
"Okay, Mr. Carroll. Well, are you serious about the medical fee?" I didn't know much about that project, but I heard that it was worth tens of billions of dollars. Five points...
Oh my god, what a fortune!
"I'll give it all to you." Carroll was casual as if he was talking about five dollars.
Like a child who got the lucky money, I smiled sweetly.
On the way back home, Carroll drove very fast. I looked down at my phone, and it was already eleven o'clock in the evening.
There was no entertainment in the countryside, and I was supposed to be fast asleep at this hour.
Carroll sat next to me and focused on the document in his hand. He read fast. I thought his speed was about ten lines at one glance.
Both his hands and face were so pretty.
Why did such an outstanding man fake his death?
I was sleepy when the car arrived at Carroll's mansion. For the first time, I saw above the gate the golden words, Bamboo Pavilion.
Rose instantly came over at the sight of me. "Madam, your room is ready, and I'll take you there. The Smith family called and wanted to dine with you at their place tomorrow night."
"My room?" Hearing the first half of Rose's speech, I looked at Carroll in surprise. "Do I have my room?"
I deliberately ignored the latter half of that speech.
As for the Smith family, forget it.
"Yes." Carroll nodded. "I can't show up for a period, so you will have to live here alone."
"May I have a look at my room?"
"Bring her to her room." Carroll smiled, and it was a beautiful one. "I still have something to do. Have an early night."
