Chapter 1253

Bay Island. Gloomy pitch-black clouds hung over the calm sea. The night breeze was slightly chill, and it was silent. Suddenly, a blinding burst of flames erupted in the darkness. "Boom!" Kyle received a call from Blair and had only spoken a few words when he heard a distant explosion. He quickly rushed to the balcony and saw a fire in the church in the distance. Kyle widened his eyes in disbelief, gripping his phone tightly. The sound was an explosion. Blair's voice came from the phone. "Hello? Kyle, what's happening?" Kyle paused for a moment and replied, "Blair, the church on the island has been bombed!" There was silence on Blair's end for a while before he spoke in a tone devoid of warmth, "Is it Rory?" Kyle replied, "It should be." Apart from him, Kyle could not think of anyone else who dared to do this. Kyle stared at the church engulfed in flames in the distance; his expression was ice-cold. It seemed that Rory had already arrived on the island. The church on the island held great significance for Blair, and Rory's bombing meant war. Kyle clenched his teeth and said, "Since they dare to come, I'll make sure they have no way back!" Blair reminded him. "Arthur is already on his way with reinforcement." "Alright." "Ky!" At this moment, they heard Zoe's voice from inside the house. "Let's leave it at this for now. I'll call you back once we've caught those people," Kyle said before hanging up. He returned to the room and saw Zoe huddled on the bed, looking nervous. "Zoe." As soon as she saw him, Zoe rushed into his arms. "Ky, where did you go?" The explosion had awakened Zoe, and she did not see Kyle, causing her to panic. Kyle held Zoe in his arms and comforted her, saying, "I was just on the balcony talking on the phone." Zoe rubbed her eyes and looked out the balcony, asking, "Ky, what was that sound? Is something on fire?" "It seems like a building caught fire, but don't worry, everything's fine." To prevent Zoe from worrying, Kyle did not tell her the truth. At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Kyle gently rubbed Zoe's head. "Be a good girl and go to sleep. I need to take care of something, but I'll be back soon, okay?" Zoe, exhausted, nodded and closed her eyes, drifting back to sleep. Kyle covered her with a blanket before leaving the bedroom. Outside the bedroom, Kyle’s assistant and the head of the villa's security team were waiting at the door. The assistant spoke, "Sir, there was a massive explosion at the church, and the fire is spreading. I've sent people to put out the fire, and there have been no reports of casualties so far." The security team leader added, "Sir, twenty minutes ago, we spotted two suspicious individuals around the villa. They were highly skilled and managed to escape. We couldn't catch them, and they got away." Kyle gave a cold, ironic smile. Rory was trying to divert their attention, it seemed. Fortunately, he was prepared for this. Kyle looked at his assistant and said, "From now on, the island is on high alert. Deploy more personnel for a thorough search of the island. We must root out anyone hiding in the shadows." "Yes, Sir." Meanwhile, on the island's southern hilltop, a black man stood shrouded in the night's darkness, exuding an air of mystery.
