Chapter 1246
Tracey spread a picnic blanket under the tree, holding Lemon while waiting beneath the shade.
"Little Lemon, do you want to climb trees with your big brothers and sisters? If you want to, you need to grow up quickly. Aunt Tracey will teach you how to climb trees when you're bigger," Tracey said.
Lemon sat beside her aunt, holding an apple her brother had just picked. She wanted to take a bite, but Tracey took it from her.
"Fruity, mine,” Lemon pouted and said in her sweet voice.
Tracey took a fruit knife and said, "Wait, Aunt Tracey will peel it for you."
Soon, Mable and Blair approached with a basket of apples.
"Mama, fruity." Seeing bigger and redder apples, Lemon immediately crawled over to her mama and held one in each hand.
Blair took off his gloves and pinched Lemon's cheek. "Does Little Lemon want to pick apples?"
"Yes!" Lemon's eyes lit up as she pointed at the apples on the tree. "Fruity, yummy."
"Come, Daddy will lift you to pick the apples."
Blair lifted Lemon high, allowing her to pick the apple from the tree. With a little effort, she pulled an apple and almost dropped it.
Holding the apple she had picked herself, Lemon looked extremely happy. "Fruity! Got it!"
Mable watched Lemon and smiled, asking, "Little Lemon, today is Daddy's birthday. What should you say to Daddy?"
"Daddy, kiss." Little Lemon gave her daddy a peck on the cheek. Then, she looked at the apple in her hand, handed it to Daddy, and spoke sweetly, "For Daddy."
"Thank you, Little Lemon." Blair hugged Little Lemon tightly, feeling warm. She was indeed a heartwarming little darling.
After working in the orchard all morning, the family gathered several fruits.
After lunch, Mable prepared to make a cake. Blair stopped her, gently touching her hand with concern. "Your hand is still recovering from the injury. Let the servants make the cake."
Mable smiled. "It's fine; I'll make a simple mousse cake. It'll be quick, and I won't have to lift anything heavy."
Blair opened the refrigerator and took out the ingredients. "Then I'll help you."
"Will you be able to help? Don't make things more complicated," Mable teased.
Before Blair could reply, Tracey rushed in from outside and smiled. "Mabes, my brother is quite skilled in the kitchen, especially when making desserts. You can trust him not to mess things up."
Mable looked at Blair in surprise. "You often make desserts?"
Tracey grinned. "Yes, especially healthy desserts. Isn't that right, Blair?"
Blair gave Tracey a stern look. "Get out, nosy!"
"Alright, you guys take your time. I'll go help take care of Little Lemon."
With that, Tracey quickly left. She had initially wanted to help, but seeing the harmony between them, she decided not to be a third wheel.
It was convenient anyway. The two of them making the cake together would also help strengthen their relationship.
Mable looked at Blair in surprise. "You enjoy healthy desserts?"
Blair lightly tapped Mable's forehead. "Have you forgotten? I used to make them for your menstrual period every month."
Mable froze, her face turning red.
Mable suddenly remembered something and asked, "Did you also make the ones I had before?"
"Yes." Blair nodded casually.
Mable looked bewildered. "Why didn't you tell me?"
