Chapter 1234

With permission granted, Blair and Tracey entered the emergency room. Mable was asleep on the hospital bed, though her complexion did not look good. "Mabes," Blair said, holding Mable's hand against his face. He had a concerned expression. Tracey also felt for Mable but reassured Blair, "Don't worry. The doctor said Mabes is fine. She will wake up soon." Blair nodded without a word. They watched the nurses transfer Mable to a hospital room. Blair stayed by Mable's side, and by late afternoon, Mable finally woke up. When she opened her eyes, the first person she saw was Blair. He sat by the bedside, his eyes filled with joy as he gazed at her. "Mabes, you're awake." "Blair," Mable tried to speak, but her voice sounded hoarse. "Mabes." Blair bent down and hugged her tightly, his voice trembling. "I'm so glad you're awake. I'm sorry." Mable paused momentarily and then hugged him back, a hint of a smile in her voice. "Why apologize for something you had no control over? My fainting had nothing to do with you." Blair kissed her forehead gently. "Mabes, I didn't take care of you properly. I wasn't there when you needed me the most. I'm really sorry." Mable smiled, trying to sound light-hearted as she said, "You've always taken care of me. When I needed you, you were there, just like now." "Mabes." Blair looked at Mable, feeling that she seemed unusually gentle today. Mable said, "I want to sit up." Blair helped her sit up, concerned. "Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere? I'll call the doctor." Mable grabbed Blair's hand, preventing him from leaving. "I'm not uncomfortable, just a little hungry." Blair picked up his phone. "What would you like to eat? I'll ask Amos to get it for you." "Anything is fine." Blair thought for a moment and sent a message to Amos. Just then, the door to the hospital room opened, and someone exclaimed, "Mabes, you're awake!" Tracey walked in, a mix of surprise and joy on her face. "Tracey, you're back," Mable said. "Yeah, I just arrived in Richworth this morning. I wanted to surprise you, but as soon as I got to the villa, I heard that you had fainted. How do you feel now?" "Don't worry, I'm perfectly fine. Nothing happened," Mable reassured her. Tracey walked to the bedside and hugged Mable. "Thank goodness you're okay, Mabes. You really scared me." Mable felt a bit guilty. "I'm sorry for making you all worry." Speaking softly into Mable's ear, Tracey said, "You have no idea how worried my brother was when he found out you had fainted. His face was pale, and he rushed to the hospital—" Before Tracey could finish, Blair pulled her away. "Why are you talking so much? Mabes needs to rest. Go outside." Tracey held onto Mable's arm. "Can’t I stay with Mabes a little longer? I just returned, and I have so much to talk to her about." Blair gave her a stern look. "Go call the doctor. Tell them that Mabes has woken up." "Oh, right. The doctor said they would need to do more tests after you woke up." Tracey remembered as she left the room. Soon, the doctor arrived. Mable sat on the bed, allowing the doctor to examine her. After the examination, the doctor asked, "Mrs. Fowler, before you fainted, did you feel any discomfort in your body?" Mable hesitated for a moment. "I had a headache." Blair stared at Mable, his brows furrowing. The doctor continued, "Did the headache come on suddenly, or was it triggered by something you saw or heard that caused discomfort?"
