Seated beside him, the man lifted a glass of red wine and began to sip.
Minutes passed. The two savored their wine in quiet companionship. Vivian Donovan watched a variety show, her laughter easily triggered—she burst out laughing repeatedly. When especially amused, she even patted Bernard Jacobson on the shoulder. "Look at them, hahaha, I'm dying! That guy's such a fool."
"Oh my gosh, I can't, I can't—this is too funny, I'm laughing so hard my stomach hurts."
"Ice needs to stay cold. Wrapping it in a blanket will only melt it faster. Goodness, does he have zero common sense? So ridiculous, so cute."
