Chapter 4293

The crowd immediately turned on Hunter, criticizing him instead. Furious and humiliated, Hunter lashed out at the hospital security guards. “What business is it of yours? Shut your mouth! You’re nothing but glorified guard dogs. Why are you meddling in other people’s affairs?” “See? Now he’s throwing a tantrum.” The security team had long been fed up with Hunter. Every day, he stormed into the inpatient ward, forcing them to drag him out. The whole time, he would be screaming about them manhandling him and threatening to sue. It was obvious he was an unreasonable old man through and through. Anyone who knew Hunter was aware that he was not a good person. In the past, he had been timid, but only because his wife had kept him on a tight leash. After all, he was just a live-in son-in-law. When Belinda was alive, Hunter had orbited around her like a satellite and was the lowest-ranking member of the household. His claim to fame was getting caught red-handed cheating, after which he disappeared from public view for months, rumored to be recovering from a brutal beating at home. Now, here he was, shamelessly favoring his sons over his daughter, which was ironic, considering that, in the Fisher family, daughters were the rightful heirs. Then again, his biological daughter had not grown up with him. He had no emotional attachment to her, so it was natural that he preferred his sons. After all, they carried his surname. Caroline? She was a Fisher, not a Clark. “How much did Caroline pay you to gang up on an old man like me?” Hunter spat at the guards, refusing to back down. One of them laughed coldly. “Old man, your three sons tried to murder their own sister. The whole city knows. Everyone’s seen your true colors. Only the blind couldn’t recognize what kind of man you are. “Ms. Fisher must’ve drawn the short straw in life to end up with a father like you.” Hunter said furiously, “Caroline set my sons up! She provoked them on purpose, forced them to attack her, just so she could frame them! My boys were just too naive and fell right into her trap! “Otherwise, how did Fletcher rush back from his business trip so fast? This was definitely all Caroline’s scheme! My sons were tricked!” To his credit, Hunter’s imagination was vivid. He had actually pieced together most of the truth. So what? His sons had still committed a crime. No matter how much he ranted or raged, the law would punish them. If anyone was to blame, it was themselves. If they had just listened to him, sold everything, and retreated to their hometown, they could have lived peaceful, comfortable lives. It was his domineering wife’s fault too. Why did she have to change her will? If she had stuck to the original version, maybe the siblings would not have turned on each other. Belinda murdered his sons. Hunter cursed his late wife silently, wishing he could dig up her grave and scatter her ashes to the wind. His hatred for her burned as fiercely as ever, even though she was dead. This was especially because she had tried to drag him down with her in her final moments, wanting to take him with her. If Belinda knew what he was thinking, she would say, “Pity I missed and didn’t manage to kill you then. Now, you’re really causing so much trouble for my daughter as I had predicted.” Hunter would not be able to say anything to that either. As Hunter and the guards argued, Darren emerged. The moment Hunter spotted him, his curses escalated as he cursed Caroline with words filthier and more venomous than the last.
