Chapter 4286

Employees for the O’Connors were covered by social insurance. Those who had worked for ten years or more were eligible for monthly retirement benefits. They could receive some money after retirement, guaranteeing them a basic standard of living. That was pretty decent. Austin did not know that the driver had almost turned him into an enemy. While driving, he asked Isabella, “Did you sleep well last night?” Since Louis and Phillip were present at breakfast, both of them had restrained themselves. They revealed nothing and interacted as they usually did. “Not bad.” After speaking, Isabella yawned. She could not resist laughing and said, “Although I slept well, I’m still tired because I went to bed late. “Make me a cup of coffee later. I can’t get through the day without coffee.” Isabella had not been getting enough sleep as she had been working long hours daily. Coffee was the only thing that could keep her going. However, she felt the effects of caffeine had weakened as she had been drinking excessively. Back when she had her first cup of coffee, she remained alert from morning until night. Recently, even two cups a day could not give her the same alertness. “Okay,” said Austin. “You should’ve rested for another day. You came back late last night.” Austin sounded worried. “Don’t push yourself too hard. You should prioritize your health.” Isabella looked at the scenery outside the window. Most of the time, she would handle work in the car and had no time to admire the scenery outside. However, she was in the mood to enjoy the car ride and scenery that day because the man she liked was with her, and only the two of them were in the car. “I’ve already given myself a few days off. There are too many matters to handle for a company of this scale. I’ve already delayed some work to take some time off. If I rest for one more day, I’ll have to work extra hours for a few days.” The O’Connor family business was huge. They were involved in many industries. “My mom saw us hugging each other last night. She had a long conversation with me.” After a moment of silence, Austin said, “Mrs. O’Connor talked to me this morning and asked many questions as well. I answered all of them, but I don’t know whether she was satisfied.” Judging from how Delphine talked to him right after waking up unusually early, he guessed she had spotted him and Isabella last night. Nevertheless, Austin was not worried as he had confirmed that Isabella also had feelings for him. As long as he had won her heart, the rest of the O’Connors would not be a problem; Isabella was bold enough to make decisions for her marriage. Isabella smiled. “Don’t worry. My parents will definitely be satisfied with you. My mom was concerned I’d have to move out after marrying, but I clarified it with her last night. “My mom must approve of you now.” Isabella had said she would take her marriage into her own hands. Therefore, her mother could not say more. Of course, it was also because Austin was outstanding. If he were mediocre, her mother would do everything to stop them from getting married, no matter what she said. While Isabella would not let her parents decide on her behalf, she still cared about her family. If they were firmly against her relationship with Austin, she would probably choose to break up with him. Love was not her utmost priority; her family was. Austin smiled. He made a rare self-praising comment, “I’m an excellent man who’s worthy of you in every aspect. My mother-in-law will definitely acknowledge me.” Isabella said, “Nothing has been confirmed yet.” “We love each other. It’s only a matter of time before we get married. How does that not count as something?”
