Chapter 3764
Her indifferent demeanor infuriated Adrian and his two brothers. Jason suddenly stood up, strode over to Caroline, and attempted to slap her. He did not succeed.
Caroline swiftly grabbed Jason’s wrist with one hand. She had never gone for self-defense training—her adoptive parents had treated her poorly, so they would not have sent her to such lessons. However, she had been bullied frequently in the past and had some fighting experience, which made her quick to react.
In a flash, she splashed the remaining coffee from her cup onto Jason's face. He was completely unprepared, having never expected his sister to be able to seize his wrist.
He knew Caroline had never learned any self-defense skills and usually had bodyguards when she went out. Darren also often stayed close to her, ready to rush to her aid at the earliest moment if anything happened. They were aware that Darren also arranged for people to protect her secretly, as the head or successor of the Fisher family always had bodyguards in the shadows.
It was nearly impossible for an ordinary person to harm her.
However, at the moment, thinking there were no outsiders in Caroline’s office and with Darren absent, they did not think much of Caroline and in their anger, they wanted to teach her a lesson. As for what would happen afterward, Jason did not give a thought to it. After all, Caroline would not dare to kill him. She had her principles and would never commit murder.
Besides, he was her brother from the same parents.
There was only a little coffee left in Caroline's cup, but it was enough to douse her brother’s face. The coffee dripped down his face and onto his suit. He was younger and liked wearing white suits, which made any stains particularly noticeable.
Caroline coldly said, “Believe it or not, I’ll smash this cup over your head. Do you think I’m made of playdough? I might not have any formal training, but I won't necessarily lose in a fight! If you dare to lay a hand on me, think about the consequences you’ll have to bear. Can you handle it?”
She shook off Jason's hand and coldly said, “Sit back down. You can scold me, but don’t lay a hand on me. If you dare to do so, don’t blame me for being ruthless. We don’t have a strong sibling bond for me to withstand your antics in the first place!”
She then looked at Adrian, questioning, “Adrian, you say I don’t treat you as my brothers. Have you ever treated me as your sister? All of us know what our relationship really is like—we just put on a show for Mom’s sake. Don’t pretend we have strong ties, and don’t keep blaming me for not treating you as my brothers. Think about how you’ve treated me. Don’t think that just because you’re older, you can suppress or bully me. That won’t work with me.
“The Fisher legacy belongs to the Fisher family. Mom stole it; it never belonged to her or us. Before she died, she realized her mistakes and apologized to Aunt Tiara. I will return everything that doesn’t belong to her or us to Aunt Tiara’s descendants. This is my way of atoning for Mom, so she can rest in peace.
“You guys have been in business long enough and have private and commercial properties you can rent out. Even without Fisher Enterprise behind you, as long as you don’t screw up, you can still live well with your own assets. The rent you receive each month already exceeds the income of many in the lower classes. What more do you want?”
Caroline felt that her brothers were already very well-off.
