Chapter 73 45: B

"I'll be waiting for you to send them, Ummah. I might get a lawyer that will elaborate everything for us" with that, she ended the call, silently praying for what Ummah had seen not to turn out to be true, because only god knew what she would do to that woman. And maybe, even the innocent Muhaseen. She might ve escaped death the last time, but she would have to make sure that this time, if god forbid this turned out to be true, she would have to make sure she died for good. ? "Nana! It s like Muhaseen has woken up, will you please check up on her from?!" Fareeda called out from the kitchen when she felt as if she had heard the crying voice of Muhaseen from the room. Nana usually did her assignments in Mujaheed s chamber and Fareeda couldn t appreciate more. "I think I just heard her melodious voice too, I'll go and check up on her." She dropped down the book she was holding and walked into the room. From the kitchen, Fareeda could see them, how Nana brought her out of the room excitedly as she lifted her up while despite wanting to cry, Muhaseen s wails turned into a pits of baby giggle. She smiled and turned back to he sizzling pot, she made sure she had mastered all that Mujaheed loved to eat. She was smiling when she lifted her eyes to the clock and she knew Mujaheed will be back any minute from now. She gasped when she felt herself hugged from behind and eased when his hands were wrapped around her waist. "Mujaheed..." She said weakly and smiled, placing her hands on his. "You re back already, I've missed you soo much." She said and turned to face him. He playfully touched her glass and she smiled at him. "Me Gilashi, I've missed you more. How have you been? I saw Nana together with Muhaseen and that traitor didn t want to come to me." Fareeda threw her head back and laughed, feeling relaxed and happy to have him finally with her. "I think Nana smuggle some sweets into her mouth when we aren't seeing, I also don t understand this love they share." "I'll take Muhaseen with me, Ya Fareeda! If she starts crying, we ll be back!" They heard Nana from the living room and all their faces lit up into a smile. "Why don t you feed her yourself when she cries and let my innocent soul rest, Nana?" She had to clip her lower lip to avoid herself from bursting into a peal of laughter at the grunt that escaped Nana s lips. "If she s old enough to eat something solid, you d have to be letting her sleep with me, Ya Fareeda! But for now, her food is with you." "You re a woman too, aren t you. Don t bring her back to me until it s sleeping time, feed her when she's hungry!" Mujaheed had to stop himself from laughing as well, but he knew Nana was now a red faced due to her annoyance. She always hated it whenever Fareeda said she should feed her especially in the presence of Mujaheed. "Ya Fareeda I've told you I hate this!" She whined, not being able to come into the kitchen. "But it s fine, I have tons of chocolates in my fridge, worry not! I'll make sure she s filled with sugar, to the brim!" She said stubbornly and walked away. Amidst their laughter, Mujaheed called out at her, "Don t feed my daughter with sweets, Nana!" She ignored them both, hearing their laughter as she walked back into the mansion. Fareeda looked back at him with the hint of smile on her lips. "Are you tired? You look worried, Mujaheed." She wanted to ask him about his activities these few days, but she didn't know how to start, didn t want him to burst out. He brought her closer to him and smiled before he planted a smooch on her face. "I m tired, dear wife. Thank god Nana has taken Muhaseen with her, I can be able to ease down my worry." She giggled and shook her head. "I'm cooking one of your concoctions. You should go and take your bathe, I'll be done before then. Then we can talk." He stubbornly shook his head at her, smiling mischievously. "I want us to talk now, come on, Fareeda. please." He whined, and she turned back and turned off the gas before she looked at him. "Aren t you hungry?" She asked with a fiery look and he nibbled on his lower lip. "We ll eat later. Do you know what? I even forgot to tell you, I've bought something for you." He said excitedly and took her wrist in his before he guided her to the living room. Fareeda was amazed to see a carton wrapped beautifully and she giggled. "What is this? Should I open it?" She stood in front of the box and excitedly looked at him. "It s something from a husband to his wife. Go on, open it." He helped her unwrapped the box and she gasped happily, lifting up the first thing she had seen, which was the picture they took together with Muhaseen last week. Her eyes filled with tears as she lifted the frame, "I love it, Mujaheed!" She exclaimed while lovingly grazing her hand on surface of the picture. She subtly kissed Muhaseen s face, feeling as her love kept filling her heart. "But this baby here looks more beautiful than all of us, don t you think? Then after her..." She was happily examining the picture before she looked back at him with a grin, "Then of course, My handsome husband." He was about to argue with her about what she said when she meticulously placed down the frame and brought out the other items in the box, there was a cake mixer carton with a sticky note attached to it. 'Our baby will be three months tomorrow, let s bake a cake together! The happy tears she was holding back rolled down her cheeks and she flashed him one of the most beautiful smiles he had ever seen on her face. "Mujaheed!" Her lips trembled happily before she dug more into the box. There was an outfit, an abaya so beautiful that she had to stand up. It was mustard in color and so beautiful the she giggled. "Ya Allah! Mujaheed this is soo beautiful! I so much love it!" And then the rest of the items that were in the box were all Muhaseen s gift. Some toys that might take her three to five years before she could use them. Baby clothes and everything she had never imagine to even buy for Muhaseen. She laughed, rumbling through the items before she dropped everything when she got to the end of the box, a letter neatly folded with 'I love you. Inscribed on it and she knew this was the highest of it all. She didn't know what was inside the later but she knew it would be something that she will always remember. "Mujaheed!" She said excitedly and went to hug him tightly. "I don t even know what to say to you, thank you soo much!" He laughed and lovingly fondled her head, feeling as her love filled more than the places required in his heart. "I love you so much, Fareeda. Don t read that letter until tomorrow, okay?" She pulled away from his body and nodded her head with a wide grin. "But I haven't seen anything here for you. Let s go out tonight and shop for you, I'll spoil you today, and don t even say no to me. Because I'm aware you ve always said no to anything I want to do for you." He pulled her back to him and chuckled deeply, "Not everything, Fareeda. At least not a kiss from you." She giggled and hugged him, making his leaning mouth to have a place on her hair and he laughed. Her stubbornness, her wittiness, he loved her everything. ... 'Hey beloved, I don t know what to say to you or where to start from, but all I know is, I'm so happy and excited to have you in my life, Fareeda. There were days I ask myself this question, what would I have done without you in my life? Would I have loved my life this much? You enlighten my life, Fareeda. Thank you for being my wife. There was once a phase in our lives when you wanted to run away from me, but one thing was constant then, I knew I couldn't loose you after I've just gotten you. I didn t know what was my reason then, but now it s as clear as the morning sky, It s because I love you, Fareeda. I love you so much. And our baby, Muhaseen, you gave me a gift that s priceless. Seeing her by our side is a my utmost blessing in life, Fareeda. Thank you for having my child, for giving her your pretty face, but most importantly, thank you for giving her your eyes without the glasses attached. (Don't shoot me a hard look, I love my wife more with her glasses on.) Muhaseen is three months old today, it s cheesy how we can t even wait to celebrate her first birthday but I feel like everyday of her life counts to us and should be celebrated. Thank you for being my father and the mother of my kids. I love you, Fareeda Kamal Sardauna. Your beloved husband, Mujaheed. It had been a week since Muhaseen clocked three months but there was never a day when Fareeda didn t ready this letter whenever she woke up and it always arose the butterfly in her stomach. She smiled and folded it as she pulled her bedside drawer to put it back. Because it was the second thing she looked for whenever she woke up after her glass. Something caught her eyes, a card. Not just a normal bank card, but it was a gold card. She pulled it out of the drawer and kept flipping it, she didn't want to know what this meant, she was afraid of what it was making her feel, but she wouldn't act up just now. She could remember taking all that Mujaheed had in him into the drawer yesterday night, maybe he forgot to take it with him before he left for his mysterious 'I have to deal with something meeting. She had always found that bizarre, but now after she saw this gold card, Fareeda knew she had to do something. She would be overly hurt if she found out the Mujaheed was dealing into an illegal business. Not that she looked down onto him because of his financial state, but she knew being a gateman would never give you a gold card in Nigeria. Unless he was paid thousands of dollars per month, which she was sure he wasn t. On instinct, she picked up her phone and dialed his number. She had never called him whenever he left and told her he was going to take care of something in town, but today she knew she had to call him. With the card still in her palms, she heard as he picked the call. "Hello, Mujaheed?" She called out, but later realized what would she tell him? What would be her excuse of calling him? If she had missed him, she can send him a text because he always replied. "Hello, Fareeda. Are you awake already?" She heard him smile, which she was certain he wasn't bothered with the fact that she had called him. That eased her and she knew she wouldn t have any difficulties anymore. "I'm awake and you re out already. I know you might be busy but please will you bring some diapers for me? I ve just checked it and realized Muhaseen s diapers have finished. I'm sorry I m telling you this at the dire minute because I have to bathe her and we don t have anyone left to change it for her."
