Chapter 72 45: Biggest Blessing

They held each other s eyes for so long that she wondered what was going through his mind, but she knew that, something was slowly happening to her heart about Mujaheed. She didn t try to lift off him because here, she felt she was home. And home had never felt this peceful and calm. Mujaheed held her arms to steady her on his body and he smiled at her, "I love you, Fareeda." Those were the only words he could utter after seeing the way her face looked under the illumination of the moon, with the stars up there and also the wind as soothing as it could ever be. He meant it, he loved her so much that he felt as though his heart wanted to burst out of his chest. She felt her heart lost a bit, because among the things she had imagined him to say, nothing was close to this. But she couldn t deny that either, because seeing into his eyes, she had never seen so much sincerity like the one staring back into her eyes. He loved her, she didn't even know what to feel or say. "Mujaheed..." She bagged, but he cut her off by placing his index finger on her lips. "You don t have to say anything for now. You might not be in love with me now, but I'm certain you ll love me someday. So for now, my love will be able to suffice us all. I'll love you so much that you d wonder how it s possible for a man to love that much." A blush crept to her cheeks and she smiled, "And the baby?" She imagined to ask, because even before he told her he loved her, Fareeda knew she was giving birth to this child. "We re having it, aren't we?" He said with a loving tone and a tender look. She immediately nodded her head and merged their lips in a passionate sync able to reheat the molten magma residing deep into the stomach of this hill. ... One year Leap Fareeda didn t know what she was going to do anymore, she had never imagined that having a chid was this hard. She knew there were days that Muhaseen was being the loveliest girl, but being a two months old baby girl s mother that loved to cry a lot had never been this tiring. She lifted her up from the crib, the sleep in her eyes making it so hard for her to even see through her glasses. She moved back to the bed and placed a crying Muhaseen on her chest, praying that she would just sleep and let her sleep as well. "Please, Muhaseen, I don t know what you want now. I'm sure you re not hungry either, because I fed you when I prayed my subh salah. Won t you let your Maama sleep please?" She rocked her and rested her head on the bed head, making sure she held her firm so just in case she would fall asleep and Muhaseen might slip off. Muhaseen was her greatest blessing in life, but almost now that she had fallen in love with crying so much, Fareeda knew it was the most tiresome blessing of her life, even though she knew at the end, it would be fruitful. She could remember the day she gave birth to her, too much pain that she wished she hadn't gotten pregnant at first. She thought she wouldn't be able to give birth to Muhaseen because of how much it had pained, it felt like dying while you were still alive. But so far, seeing the baby smile of her baby, Fareeda knew all the pain was worth it. Her beautiful baby made her realized that in life, you an fall in love with someone without even seeing that person and a first glance could make you love that person even more than you ve imagined to love them. Her sleepy eyes wandered to Mujaheed s side of the bed and she wondered what was wrong with him. She had noticed for the past few days that he always left the house early even before they all woke up, he began to stay late at night, having phone calls. He was always together with his phone. She didn t want to doubt him because so far their relationship had been built in nothing but trust. And like he promised, his love for her had sufficed them to the point that she felt she didn t have to fall in love so long as she stayed married to him. Which hopefully she will. But his activities were becoming more and more ticklish and she wanted to ask him what was wrong, but she was afraid of an outburst from him. Asma u left had back to school furiously since when she heard Fareeda was pregnant and since then, no matter how much Ummah would beg, she still hadn t come home, not even when she gave birth to Muhaseen. Ummah, well, Ummah was still Ummah and the only thing Fareeda got soothed with was that she hardly ever set her eyes on her. She was always in Mujaheed s chamber as she either cooked, watched the tv or just played with Muhaseen. Nana was in Ss2 now and hardly found time but she made sure Muhaseen was the last thing she saw everyday before she fell asleep. Dahlia came over when she felt like it too, and that gladdened Fareeda s heart. Because she knew they might not love her, but without doubt they loved her innocent baby. There were times when Alhaji will sed either Nana or Dahlia to take Muhaseen to him and she wouldn't be back until she started crying. That wasn't enough, but deep down she knew he tried. She rummaged for her phone beside her and found that Mujaheed had sent her text message. 'Good morning, Fareeda. I ve left and I wouldn t be back until late in the evening. I have something to take care of. I promise to take care of myself and in return, you should take care of yourself, okay? With any chance you have, tell Muhaseen I love her and she should stop tiring my beautiful wife. I love you both. Despite the smile that had already taken over her face, Fareeda felt a tingling on the pitch of her stomach. She wondered what he had always been taking care of, and tonight she would have to ask him what was wrong. If he was into some kind of trouble, he should tell her so they can find a better solution to his problem, he shouldn t be the only one to take care of his problem. She smiled and replied him, 'Sure, Baaba . We ll take care, but your daughter doesn t want me to sleep anymore, maybe she wants to tire my eyes to the point that the glasses will stop working on me, don t you think? Anyways, take care of yourself and be back home soon, we ve missed you. Sometimes it even scared her how she missed him even if he took a few hours away from her. It felt as if she had mentally got herself depended on him without her knowing and she knew a serious fight with Mujaheed will have her loosing her sanity. She had to feed Muhaseen again, before she carefully laid her beside her after she had gone back to sleep. She took some time just staring at her daughter s face, happy and thankful to Allah for bestowing this blessing upon her. It was something she would forever be indebted to. She leaned in and kissed her forehead lightly before she slid beside her and laid down, having it in mind the moment Nana came back from school, she will have her hooked with Muhaseen so she can fully rest for the whole day. Without the father and daughter there to disturb her life. But she could see, the first week after she had given birth to Muhaseen she was as nervous as hell. Wanting to see the kind of relationship Mujaheed would share with Muhaseen, but after a few days of too much love that turned into an obsession, she got relieved. Because if anything, Fareeda knew her innocent baby wouldn t have a father like hers. She was even jealous of her at some point, getting loved from all angles, being taken care of, pampered and Fareeda doubted if this girl wouldn't grow up to be a spoilt brat. She smiled when she thought that she had to act a bit strict with her since no one will. They will fight with Mujaheed about that, but she will have to do it for their own betterment. ? Ummah faced to and fro with the document still in her hand. She wondered what this meant, she wasn t an illiterate but right now her mind was not functioning well and she had to ask someone to elaborate things for her. Maybe she was wrong, maybe what she was seeing was barely but her illusion. She dialed Asma u s number without a second thought, clenching onto the file of document as she briskly glanced at the door to make sure no one entered. "Pick up, you stupid girl!" She muttered softly, dialing the number again when Asma u didn t pick the first call. "What do you think you re doing to be ignoring my calls, Asma u?" She asked immediately Asma u picked up the phone, completely agitated. "Ummah, I'm sorry, I just got out of the lecture hall. What is wrong, you don t sound alright." She pointed out, walking along the long corridor in their school and smiling at whoever her eyes fell into. "Asma u, there s a huge problem, you need to come back home this time." From the way her voice sounded, Asma u knew that Ummah wasn t just saying this just because she wanted her back home, there was surely a problem but what would be it? "Ummah, you have to sit down and take a deep breath, don t you think? I won't understand you now that you talk barely audible. Please take a deep breath, sit down and tell me what s going on."she would hate it if this will all be about Fareeda. Because she had tried all she could to forget about those two and move on with her life, even though she still carried the ache of the hatred she had for Fareeda and also the pain of loosing her beloved. There were times when she had to block both Dahlia and Nana on both her social media accounts because of the only thing they posted was Muhaseen, it was even a wonder to her how she knew the name of that girl whose beauty will be the first thing one will notice after looking at her. And now that Ummah sounded this desperate and worried, Asma u prayed it wasn t anything related to them. Like she had ordered, Umma found a spot at the edge of the and sat down before she palmed her face, "I don't know whether I'm right about this or wrong, but Asma u, I think Alhaji is trying to transfer everything he has into Fareeda s name. Well, maybe not everything, but his most successful company. The papers are here with me, he hasn't signed any of them yet, nothing is confirmed but that's the processes." She said briskly as she looked at the papers in her hands and felt her heart sank. Asma u had to find a bench for her to sit down, she looked around their school. She didn t mind the way some of the students were staring at her, but then if what Ummah had said was true, then she didn't know what she would have to do next. "I don t understand you, Ummah. What do you mean by transferring everything he has to her name?" She asked with a voice so hard to decipher what she meant. "I'll send you the documents now, check through them and if what I think turns out to be true, then we have to do something." Ummah wasn t even done with what she was saying when Asma u nodded her head, surely, they would have to do something. There was no way she was going to let Fareeda have all the things she deserved.
