Chapter 15
Laura couldn’t explain it but she had a bad feeling about Janelle and she must keep Janelle away from Donovan.
She couldn’t let them get close to each other because she had a great hunch that Janelle was the woman who had had sex with him.
After entering the room, Laura hugged Donovan and buried her head in his arms and said softly, "Ovan, make love to me."
As she spoke, she tried to kiss him. Donovan was quite calm. He didn't have the impulse to touch Laura.
He couldn’t explain it but he had no desire for her. Heck, he felt that sleeping with her was wrong. At first, he thought it might be his guilt for ripping away her virginity.
He thought that since she had forgiven him, he’d want to touch her again.
But it’s been two months and he still felt uneasy and reluctant to sleep with her.
Just as Laura was about to touch his lips, he turned his head and Laura failed to kiss him.
“It's getting late, go to bed." Donovan pulled his collar, feeling a little agitated.
As to why, he didn't know. He was disturbed that he had no desire for her.
Had he really become impotent?
Laura clenched her fists and looked a little aggrieved. "Ovan, don't you like me?"
"Don't overreact." He lowered his voice and put his arm around her shoulder. "Sleep here tonight."
Laura was a woman. She knew too well what it meant if a man had no interest in her.
She lay on the bed, obediently. Her eyes brimmed with tears, but they didn't fall down.
It was obvious that she was wronged but so tolerant.
Donovan felt sorry about it. She was also tolerant that night. No matter what he did to her, she had let him..
He became gentle and covered her with a quilt. He sat on the bed. "Don't think too much about it. I’m waiting for the right time. I want to get married to you first before having sex with you again.”
That was an excuse.
To placate her.
Laura nodded, slightly. She had been with Donovan for a long time, so she knew him well. Even if he didn't love her, he would definitely take responsibility for her out of what he thought he had done to her.
Donovan took off his coat and stepped out of the room.
He went downstairs and threw the coat on the sofa. Then, he sank into the sofa, with his slender legs crossed over the tea-table. He leaned his head on the sofa, looking tired.

The next morning, when Janelle finished bathing and put on her clothes, Donovan was sitting at the table and reading the morning news.
Laura seemed to know him very well, so she made him a pot of black hot coffee.
Joan had prepared breakfast. Janelle didn't want to disturb them so she sat at the end of the table without saying a word.
She kept a distance from them and lowered her head to eat porridge.
Joan served the fried egg and looked at Janelle. She frowned. She was the one who got married to the young master. Why was she so humble in front of the mistress?
Joan said loudly on purpose, "My lady, you should be sitting close to the young master."
Janelle looked up.
Donovan also put down the magazine in his hand.
They looked at each other for a moment.
When Janelle thought of how the man looked at her so coldly last night, she felt chill in her heart.
When Donovan was very young, his mother passed away and he was taken care of by Joan.
He respected her a lot because she was like a mother to him.
Therefore, Joan spoke in a casual manner.
They got married for their own purpose.
Janelle felt that she should not disturb his private life. After she finished the porridge, she said with a smile, "I've had plenty. Take your time."
After last night, Janelle felt that Donovan cared about Laura very much, so she had better behave herself.
She walked very fast as if a monster was chasing after her.
Looking at Janelle’s back, Donovan narrowed his eyes slightly.
Laura thought for a while and said in a low voice, "Maybe she's not used to it because I'm here. From now on..."
Donovan put a glass of milk in front of her and said, "She will leave in a month."
Laura lowered her eyes slightly. This month was too long for her already.

*JANELLE*
I went back to my room and turned on my cell phone. I had received a reply from the JG’s company app.
They wanted me to come for an interview.
After I was sure that Ovan and Laura had left the house, I went out of the villa to take a taxi for the interview.
The building of the JG Group was very tall and majestic!
I stood in front of the building, took a deep breath, and then stepped in.
I hadn't graduated from college, so it was not easy for me to find a nice job. But I really wanted to get this job.
In the interview area, there were a lot of people. They were all wearing formal clothes and holding resumes in their hands. It seemed that they had made full preparation for this interview. I was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, which made me look unprofessional.
It didn't look like I was here for an interview.
Ignoring other people's strange look, I quietly stood aside and waited.
After nearly an hour, it was my turn.
I couldn't regard jobs like washing the dishes, delivering the newspaper, working in bars as my work experience. I had no educational background, so I didn't make a resume.
The interviewer frowned when seeing my empty work experience.
I was trying my best not to lose my confidence.
