Chapter 702
A terrifying wave of energy crushed a line of skeletons, striking the castle at the very end.
A rumble rang through the air.
The castle lit up with a gray glow, blocking Wilbur's blow without moving an inch.
A path about ten meters wide parted in the crowd of skeletons.
"Come with me," Wilbur shouted, running towards the castle at top speed with Ryder and Isabella while crushing the skeletons that pounced at him in the meantime.
At last, the three of them managed to make it to the castle entrance before most of the skeletons could react.
Wilbur struck the entrance of the castle again, swinging his cleaver.
The gray glow lit up again.
However, Wilbur was a lot closer to the castle now and the glow was visibly struggling to endure his attack.
The entrance shattered, and Wilbur made his way inside with Isabella and Ryder.
At the same time, the men were able to make their way over with Logan's help, striding in with darkened expressions as well.
Saiba's expression was ashen too. He struck the gigantic spiritual flame hammer in front of him on the ground, clearing the skeletons before him as he charged into the castle with his two men.
All three parties seemed to enter the castle at the same time.
The melodious tune disappeared the second they stepped inside.
The skeletons outside gathered around the castle but made no move to enter.
At last, the crowd let out a sigh of relief.
Wilbur, however, was looking inside the castle in shock.
Dozens of corpses littered the ground, all of them dried up to the point where they were practically mummified.
They were all skin and bones, seeming to be completely devoid of life or spirit.
From the looks of the clothes they were wearing, they seemed to be archeologists or the security team following along.
At the end of the main hall was a jet-black throne with a corpse sitting on it.
The corpse sported a crown on its head and a scepter in its grasp. It was the shadow that had appeared above the castle just now, the Ark King
Next to the Ark King was a young girl.
She was completely translucent, a mere spirit.
Saiba, the three men, and the rest were shocked as well.
They then caught sight of the scepter in the corpse's hand, and their eyes lit up with greed at once.
The gray jewel on the scepter radiated a powerful energy, one that seemed to be connected to the entire historical remains.
Wilbur's brows began to furrow.
The power hidden in the scepter was indeed extremely powerful.
This power, however, was of a deathly aura.
If it were to be activated, everyone here would end up dead.
However, for the purpose of a sacrifice, it would make a wonderful sacrifice akin to the Crystal Bone.
All three parties were still watching the room then. No one had any intent to strike first.
They looked at each other and their surroundings.
That scepter was going to be a piece of work to get.
The sand soldiers and skeletons outside had all been made out of the power in that scepter.
Despite it being in a corpse's grasp, the spirit next to him seemed like it was quite powerful too.
On top of that, each party also had two opponents to be wary of.
The situation grew tenser by the second.
