Everything in its path was shattered, and descending giant palm barely succumbed to the sword light's fury barely a few seconds after what happened. The residual power of sword energy continued unabated in Gerry's direction. Gerry no longer viewed Severin with contempt after realizing that just how strong Severin was. He hastily invoked a seal with his hands and conjured a silver shield in front of him. The shield radiated with divine light and formed a protective barrier just before the Sky-Soil Heptagold Sword Energy could strike him. A resounding thump echoed, and a sky-high beam of light shot up. The ensuing shockwave crushed everything around them, and Gerry—along with several quick-acting disciples who deployed their protective shields—were able to avoid the fate of their less fortunate comrades, who were instantly pierced by the violent sword energy during the shockwave.
