Chapter 27.
NORA CARUSO.
"Sergey!" I screamed, my voice shredding my throat. "Get in the car! Now!"
I saw Sergey fire one last shot and spun around, sprinting toward the driver’s side, diving in just as a bullet sparked off the doorframe near his head. "Hold on!" Sergey roared, slamming the car into gear.
The car lurched forward with a screech of tires. I was thrown back against the seat, my body slamming into Nikolai’s. He let out a low groan, "I’m sorry, I’m sorry," I sobbed, scrambling to right myself.
We tore out of the warehouse lot, Sergey taking the corner so fast that the sirens were right behind us, and there was so much blood.
It was soaking Nikolai’s shirt, "He’s bleeding too much!" I yelled to the front. "Sergey, we have to stop! We have to go to a hospital!"
"No hospitals!" Sergey shouted back, "Boss’s orders. We go home, and the doctor meets us there."
"He won't make it home!" I looked down at Nikolai. His eyes were fluttering shut, "Nikolai!" I slapped his cheek, hard. "Open your ey
