Mornings in Elarin always came with a touch of mist.
Trisha stood by the floor-to-ceiling window of her office, cradling a cup of long black in her hands.
Outside, the streets of Dunblore gradually came to life with hurried pedestrians who had nothing to do with her.
Her phone vibrated, the screen lighting up with incessant messages from Heather.
Heather: "Trisha, I can't take it anymore! After you left, Cyril completely lost it. He's been camping outside your old place every day, demanding to know your address in Elarin."
Heather: "What's wrong with him? Back when you were so good to him, he sided with that precious childhood sweetheart of his every time. Now that you're gone and don't want him anymore, he suddenly realized how much you meant to him, as if some switch had flipped in his head."
Heather: "Who does he think he is? Some tragic male lead trying to win back his wife after ruining everything? He thinks a few words of regret are enough to get you back?"
