Chapter 1634 Careless
Coral chuckled, casting a glance at the departing luxurious car. She snorted, "Tamara, who's that bastard you're meeting this early in the morning? He even came to our house. Aren't you afraid your parents will see you?"
Tamara looked at her coldly. "Are you from the medieval age, Coral? Is standing with a man considered a date? Then what about you? You always have a group of bodyguards following you around. Should I assume you're secretly having an affair behind my brother's back?"
Coral's face darkened. "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"And what nonsense are YOU talking about?" Tamara retorted.
Coral's face turned even uglier. She hadn't expected this mute girl to become so sharp-tongued once she could speak!
Thinking about Alex's bias toward Tamara, Coral didn't dare to push her luck further. She snorted coldly and left.
Tamara watched her depart, thinking about the scenes from her dreams.
It was just as Margot had described. When trouble arose at home, Quentin was eager to send her to Sebastian's bed to secure benefits for the family.
What about Coral? During that month, she kept a close eye on Tamara, not allowing her to leave her room. She would even force-feed her when she refused to eat.
Tamara closed her eyes and pulled herself out of those memories. It seemed like she needed to discuss with Sebastian about this. The experience was simply too bizarre.
…
Margot had a peaceful sleep.
In the morning, she woke up feeling a bit disoriented. She stared at the unfamiliar surroundings and was momentarily confused. But she soon sat up and ruffled her messy hair. Then, she got out of bed and headed toward the bathroom.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
"Margot, are you awake?" Benjamin's voice came from outside the door.
Margot walked over to open the door. She immediately reached out and hugged him, planting a quick kiss on his lips. "Good morning."
Her actions were natural, as if she had done it countless times before.
Benjamin was stunned. He observed her disheveled hair and the lingering sleepiness in her eyes. She was wearing a lace nightgown, which was rather revealing underneath.
He could feel everything from how close they were standing.
Benjamin's breath hitched. "What would you like for breakfast?"
Margot squinted at him. "I want the pancakes from Pancake Paradise. You used to buy them for me all the time. They're delicious."
She let out a yawn and added, "Please buy them for me. I'll go and freshen up."
Benjamin, however, remained frozen in place.
Pancake Paradise? He had never heard of that place before. But her words seemed to imply that someone had been regularly buying them for her.
Benjamin's lips thinned into a straight line, and he watched her slim figure disappear into the bathroom. He took out his phone and made a call. "Find out where Pancake Paradise is and buy some pancakes," Benjamin instructed Harris.
Harris complied, "Understood."
Benjamin glanced at the time and knocked on the bathroom door. "I need to head to school. Harris will bring the pancakes over later."
At that moment, Margot stood in front of the bathroom sink with a toothbrush. She froze when she heard his voice.
What had she just said to him in her half-asleep state? She had just brought up something from her past life to Benjamin!
There was no such place as Pancake Paradise in this life yet! She couldn't believe that she had been so careless!
Margot rushed out of the bathroom and met Benjamin's cold gaze.
"You …" Margot started.
