Chapter 1630 Desperate Measures
Margot couldn't help but feel sorry for Benjamin.
However, Benjamin shrugged. "I have no interest in the Inkling Corporation. If they push me too far, I won't mind going all out against them."
Margot smiled slightly at this. "Okay, I'll support you. I'll take care of you if you go broke."
Benjamin glanced at her, and a wicked smile appeared on his handsome face. "You'll take care of me?"
Margot huffed proudly. "Yes, I'll take care of you. Don't look down on me. I swear I'll become rich in just a few months!"
Benjamin chuckled. "Alright, I'll remember that."
The atmosphere inside the car lightened a bit, but their hearts were still heavy. Going all out and resorting to desperate measures was not their first choice. They wouldn't resort to such tactics unless necessary.
Benjamin had to make a final gamble. Otherwise, if the people from the Inkling family accepted Lance, they would kick Benjamin out of the family, putting his safety at risk.
Margot resolved to mature quickly so she could be of assistance to him. She didn't want to become a burden to him.
They soon arrived at the restaurant. Margot eagerly ordered some of her favorite food. Benjamin, on the other hand, was busy replying to messages on his phone.
Once Margot finished ordering, she handed the menu to the waiter.
Benjamin raised an eyebrow. "What about me?"
Margot smiled. "I've already ordered for you."
Benjamin paused and nodded. "Alright. By the way, there's something I want to tell you."
"What is it?" Margot looked at him curiously.
Benjamin said, "The Cooper family's company is in crisis and on the verge of bankruptcy. Kayla can't go abroad anymore."
Margot's eyes shone. "Really?"
Benjamin nodded. "Yes. Also, I've already sent someone to investigate Nammu Bay."
Margot furrowed her brows. "Why didn't you tell me? The people on that island are very xenophobic. When they see strangers, they either feed them to the fish or use them to raise cursed bugs. Sending someone there might alert them."
Benjamin smiled. "You don't have to worry. The people I've sent are professionals. I've hired them with the understanding that they may need to make sacrifices during critical moments."
Margot was stunned. Did he train assassins? This was so mysterious!
Just then, the food was brought to their table by the waiter.
Benjamin looked at the food. They were all his favorite. Puzzlement crossed his mind.
They hadn't been together for long. How did Margot know what he liked to eat? And why did she know it so comprehensively?
He should be happy about it because it meant that Margot cared about him and remembered these things. However, he felt uncomfortable for some reason, feeling like he had overlooked something.
It was a strange feeling.
"What's on your mind?" Margot asked suddenly.
Why was he in a daze?
Benjamin snapped out of his thoughts. "Nothing. Come on, let's start eating."
"Okay." Margot's attention immediately shifted to the food.
Benjamin took some food and placed them on her plate. In no time, a mountain of food was piled on her plate.
Margot asked, "Why aren't you eating?"
