Chapter 1624 Won't Your Girlfriend Get Angry
Benjamin stared at Margot speechlessly.
Margot leaned closer and gave him a peck on the lips. "I just kissed you, Mr. Inkling. Won't your girlfriend get angry if she found out?"
Benjamin immediately pinched her chin, preventing her from retreating. He ran his finger over her lips and grinned. "Then let's try something more intimate. Maybe she will get angry then."
With that, he leaned in for a kiss.
Dylan, Kevan, and David stood a distance away from them.
What crimes did they commit? Why were they subjected to witnessing all of this?
Just then, Benjamin's phone rang. He was already annoyed that his kiss was interrupted. His expression only soured as he checked the caller ID. He immediately rejected the call.
"Let's continue," he mumbled before leaning in for another kiss.
But the caller was persistent, and the phone rang repeatedly.
Margot pushed him. "You should answer the call first. We can kiss anytime, but the other person might die if you don't answer the call."
Benjamin squinted his eyes. "You have a sharp tongue."
Margot continued sipping her tea.
Benjamin finally answered the phone. "What is it?"
The caller was Trevor. Benjamin could tell he was suppressing his anger. "Were you the one behind Lance's situation? Benjamin, he's your brother. Can't you just tolerate him?"
Benjamin cocked a brow. "What makes you say that? Where's the evidence?"
Trevor sneered. "Everyone knows that you and Lancey don't get along. What other evidence do I need?"
When Benjamin heard Trevor refer to Lance as "Lancey", he thought it was quite an affectionate nickname.
Coldness flashed in Benjamin's eyes. "If you called just to discuss this, then I'm not in the mood to chat with you."
With that, he prepared to hang up the phone.
Trevor, however, continued, "Come home now, or I'll deal with your little girlfriend."
Benjamin's face darkened. He glanced at Margot, who was still sipping her tea. He gritted his teeth. "Fine."
With that, he hung up the phone.
Margot turned to him. "What's wrong?"
Benjamin shrugged. "I need to go home for a bit."
Margot nodded. "Okay, go ahead."
But Benjamin added, "You should go over to Tamara's place. She has bodyguards stationed around her house. I'm sure they can protect you. I've arranged for someone to protect you in secret, but I'm afraid it won't be enough."
Margot nodded again. "Alright."
Benjamin grabbed her by the neck and kissed her forehead. "I'll come back to you soon."
Margot grinned at him playfully. "Mr. Inkling, you're getting quite chummy with me. Won't your girlfriend ..."
But Benjamin stopped her with a kiss.
After the kiss ended, he turned and left.
Margot watched his retreating figure, and her heart sank. It seemed that Nammu Bay wasn't the biggest threat. Instead, it was the Inkling family.
But why did she know so little about the family in her past life? It seemed that Benjamin hadn't paid much attention to the Inkling family back then.
She needed to find out more about them now.
She took out her phone and called Tamara. "Tammy, are you at home?" Margot asked.
Tamara responded, "Yes. Are you coming over?"
"I'm coming now," Margot said as she walked toward her car.
Tamara sighed. "There's something I want to talk to you about too."
"Let's discuss it when I get there." Margot hung up the phone.
She got into the car, but before she could put on her seatbelt, a sudden bad feeling overwhelmed her. She quickly exited the car, putting some distance between herself and it.
Just as she stood a few feet away, a deafening explosion suddenly erupted behind her. The force of the blast sent her tumbling to the ground.
