Cedar left his condominium quicker than usual. Perhaps, it was because she called him ‘Big Brother Cedar’. As he walked out the door and walked into the lift, he kept recalling how she looked when she called him earlier. She was extremely lovable with her obedient looks. Isabelle was the kind of girl who acted coquettishly and utilized her strengths. Naturally, it was not just towards Cedar. It was not that she did it on purpose either. Rather, it was due to her own character and habits. It felt like nothing to her when she acted that way. Besides, she was still so beautiful and young. She looked so pure and naive in the eyes of men, so the way she acted was like a wondrous enchantment to a man. Even though Cedar had a great mind, it was tough for him to resist her charm. Besides, Cedar was not a man without feelings, and he always had Isabelle in his mind. Cedar went downstairs and familiarly walked into the small mart nearby. When the owner saw him, he greeted Cedar. “I haven’t seen you in a while.” Cedar smiled and politely answered, “I was away for work.” “I made some braised eggs. I’ll give you two.” When Cedar left, the owner insisted on giving him two braised eggs. Cedar did not refuse them. He accepted them politely and thanked the owner before he left. While on his way home, he bumped into several neighbors from the same block. His neighbors recognized him and greeted him enthusiastically. They knew him as the handsome yet cold man. Cedar also politely greeted them back. He was different from his usual distant demeanor. Cedar looked a little more human in his residential area because the people there treated him like an ordinary person. He had no worries there since there was no need for him to put on an act. Before Cedar returned to his condominium unit, he took a smoke break to calm the frustrations in his heart. When he pushed the door open and walked in, he saw Isabelle on the balcony. Isabelle leaned against the balcony rail as she gazed downstairs. She wore Cedar’s loose and huge white shirt. Underneath the shirt was her pair of long, straight, and pale legs. The fire he suppressed in his heart earlier instantly exploded. He shut his eyes and took a deep breath as he placed the snacks on the table. Isabelle came running to him and took the snacks. She opened a bag of chips and sat on the sofa while enjoying them. While she ate, she said, “I saw you greeting your neighbors earlier. You even answered them patiently. That’s not like you at all. I thought you were always cold.” Cedar straightforwardly replied, “You never understood me.” Isabelle had never spent any effort in learning more about him. Isabelle tilted her head and said, “I’ll learn to understand you then.” Cedar could not bear to watch her actions. He retracted his gaze from her and urged her, “Rest earlier after finishing your snacks.” Hearing that, Isabelle only said, “How random.” They were still chatting earlier, but their conversation ended so abruptly. ‘What a boring man.’ Although that was what she thought at first, Isabelle’s mind changed again later. While she enjoyed her chips, she recalled the scene earlier. In the midst of danger, Cedar almost instinctively hugged her to protect her from the danger outside. Although he was hurt, he remained quiet and never complained. He was so manly and powerful!! He was just as strong as the great mountains, giving others a sense of security! He was just as reassuring as Father. Was it the charm of Big Brother?! As Isabelle continued thinking about Cedar, it became more interesting to her. “Actually, Big Brother isn’t all that bad.” At least he was reliable, and he let others feel reassured with him around. Isabelle finished two bags of chips and glanced at the bedroom.
