Chapter 195 What Should She Do?

The warm touch made Lindsey's heart yearn for this, but soon, she cut off those fantasies by herself. "What should I do?" Lindsey mumbled. Before she said those words, her tears fell out first. She began to cry silently, but in the end, she could not suppress her whimpers and cried until her body shook. "Baby, what should Mommy do?" Lindsey was so helpless that she could only ask the unborn child, but it did not even have a brain yet. It still had not developed the most crucial organs, so how could it give her any advice? Her first reaction was to hide it from Zayn and everyone at the mansion. She was not even sure if Zayn would like this little one in her womb. Whether he liked it or not, it tormented her. Allie was still waiting outside the door, persuading Lindsey in a gentle voice, "Lindsey, come out first. That test might not be accurate, so let's go to the hospital to check it out." Even though she said this, Allie knew that they could never go to the hospital. After a long time, Allie's patience almost ran out when Lindsey finally came out of the bathroom. "Sorry for making you worried." Lindsey smiled at Allie. Her eyes were red and she had a nasal tone. Allie stepped forward to hold Lindsey's shoulders and looked at her as if she was heartbroken. "Did Zayn force you? Didn't you want a divorce? So now..." "I’ll still get a divorce," Lindsey said decisively. Her red-rimmed swollen eyes were full of determination. "The child is an accident and it won’t change the fact that we’re getting divorced." "Then what are you going to do with the child?" Allie asked carefully. When Allie mentioned this child, Lindsey’s face sank. No one was capable of hurting their children. Lindsey really could not bring herself to say that she did not want this child. Seeing her silence, Allie became anxious. “Lindsey, you’re about to get divorced, so why keep this child? You shouldn’t keep it.” Zayn definitely could not find out about this child. Even though Zayn seemed to not care about Lindsey at the moment, it would get complicated once he found out. Their relationship was now at an impasse, so Allie could not risk losing all her efforts. Lindsey brushed away Allie’s hands and sat on the side as she thought about something. After a while, she said, “Allie, you can go home first. My mind’s in a mess right now. I’ll ask you out some other time.” After Allie left, Lindsey thought about the agreement with Liam. She still had three months left. By then, how big will this little thing be? Perhaps five or six months? Her belly would surely show then. Or perhaps it would not get that chance at all. He might not even have the chance to grow into a human form. Just thinking about it made Lindsey feel that she was being torn apart. The wisps of pain that seeped from her heart made her curl up into a ball as she stayed there quietly without moving a muscle. Perhaps it was because of her pregnancy, Lindsey felt sleepier than ever. She laid there and a moment later, she brought those complicated thoughts into her dream world. A message popped up on her phone that had been tossed aside. The sender was Allie. “Lindsey, if you don't want to go to the hospital, I can get you a doctor to do the procedure at my house. You really shouldn’t keep this child.” Lindsey slept in a muddled dream until the evening when she was awakened by the sound of the maid knocking on the door. Most people would feel groggy after a nap, but Lindsey was surprisingly sharp. She looked at the time and saw Allie's message, but did not reply. She just deleted it and called Zayn. The call was quickly answered. Lindsey took a deep breath to calm herself and said, “Are you coming back tonight? I have something to discuss with you.” Half an hour later, the person on the phone appeared at the dinner table. Lindsey gave Zayn an odd look as she did not understand why he seemed to have beads of sweat on his face in this fall weather. Since Lindsey did not have much of an appetite lately, Mrs. Wendy made some simple dishes. Even so, the chicken soup on the table still made Lindsey feel nauseous. Lindsey knew that if she continued this, someone was bound to find out sooner or later. She suppressed her breathing and pretended to eat with her head lowered. She quickly gorged down half a plate of pasta and put down her fork. She smiled apologetically at the old man and said, "Grandpa, I'm done eating." "Why did you only eat so little again?" The old man frowned. Zayn also frowned as he saw Lindsey's thin wrist and the remaining half plate of pasta. "I really can't eat anymore." The old man was just worried about her, but there was a generation gap between them, so he could not force her. Lindsey covered her heavy stomach and as usual, she threw up as soon as she returned to her room. The baby in her womb did not understand how much trouble it gave her. It tormented her all day long. Lindsey would frequently vomit whatever she ate. At times, she would even throw up after a sip of water. Lindsey washed up and when she came out of the bathroom, she saw Zayn entering the room and closing the door behind him. She was so startled that she even froze for a moment. Even so, it was only for a moment. She quickly reacted and sat down on the side as if nothing had happened. Zayn strode over in a couple of steps and squatted down so that he was on the same level as her. He looked at the woman who had her head hung in front of him. After a while, he lifted her chin so that he could see her face clearly. "Were you crying?" Lindsey's eyes were a little red and she did look like she had cried. "No." Lindsey brushed his hand away. She felt a little nervous, so she had to look away from Zayn. However, Zayn was persistent. “Why are your eyes so red then?” Lindsey gave a perfunctory explanation. “It’s just an allergy from the change of seasons. Zayn, I actually want to discuss something with you. Take a seat first.” Their current position was a little too close for comfort. Their proximity beyond the normal distance of human interaction made Lindsey feel more pressured. She was afraid that Zayn would notice something. "What is it?" Zayn seemed extraordinarily patient today. He sat down next to Lindsey and from the back, he looked like he was hugging Lindsey. The man’s warm scent filled her nose and even seemed to dispel the early fall chills. Lindsey did not savor this moment and nudged to the side, pulling them apart. Zayn’s gaze moved with her and his face sank unconsciously. Lindsey actually had not thought about how to bring it up. She was just eager to leave, but she had not thought of a suitable reason. "I’d like to go on a vacation." After pondering for a while, Lindsey could only think of this reason.
