Chapter 795 Find Her Body
The situation was dire, so Mr. Osborne had followed Gregory Graham to the crash site.
Mr. Osborne knew that Vickie Thomas was in an accident and was equally worried. If he stayed back at the chateau, he would only be more anxious.
At that time when they saw the situation at hand, the worry in his heart grew heavier. He could not help but ask, "Young Master, should we send someone to help with the search as well?"
Gregory nodded and said, "Call Harold and tell him to bring a group of people over to look downstream."
"Alright."
It was merely 10 minutes between the moment of the accident and the arrival of the police. Since then, the car and its driver were salvaged from the water, but Vickie Thomas was still nowhere to be found. If she was knocked unconscious or if something had happened to her, she would have flown downstream.
After Mr. Osborne finished giving the instructions, he walked back.
Gregory looked again at the car that was parked not far away, the one that had been salvaged.
He also looked at the driver that the police had just gotten out of the car.
Gregory saw that the man was already dead and was now lying on the ground. That man’s face was black and blue, and his face was so ordinary that it could not be distinguished if it was placed in a crowd.
His eyes turned cold, then he said in a deep voice, "Investigate this! Let's see who's behind him."
Mr. Osborne was stunned and quickly hurried off to give the instructions.
On the other side, the rescue team toiled away, but they were still unable to find Vickie Thomas.
Logically speaking, the time when they started the search was not too long from the time of the accident, so even if she had died, they should be able to find her body.
According to the strength of the current, the body could not have been washed too far away. Strangely enough, no matter how much they searched, it was as if this person had disappeared and just could not be found.
Needless to say, the police recognized Gregory Graham. They noticed that he had shown up in person, so they knew that the person who was involved in the accident must have had a deep relationship with him.
They could not help but feel anxious because if they had offended Gregory Graham due to this, their future would be rough.
Therefore, a police officer came over to calm him down.
"Mr. Graham, don't worry. Since it's your friend, we’ll do our very best to search for her. However, the current is so strong, and from previous eyewitness accounts, she had already suffered serious injuries before she fell into the water. I'm afraid that the situation is grim. Mr. Graham, please accept my condolences."
Gregory's expression did not change, but in his eyes, there were already a few hints of coldness.
However, in the end, he did not act out. He said in a deep voice, "Thank you, Chief Fulton. In that case, I'll leave this to you. If you have any news, please inform me as soon as possible."
Chief Fulton was stunned as he did not expect that Gregory would leave so soon.
He thought that perhaps the person who fell into the water did not have much of a relationship with Gregory anyway. It had only been less than an hour since the search, yet Gregory was already impatient to leave and did not even wait for a result. How deep could this friendship be?
The police officer remained a poker face, bowed his head slightly, and promised Gregory.
"Yes, don't worry. Whenever there’s any news, I’ll be the first to inform you."
Only then did Gregory turn around and leave.
Gregory did not go anywhere else but went straight back to the chateau.
This news was too big to be hidden, so before he returned, the servants in the chateau, as well as Yuliana Lynch, had already heard about what had happened.
Naturally, Yuliana was overjoyed. The woman who had repeatedly embarrassed her and even dared to threaten her was finally dead.
From then on, she would be the only woman by Gregory's side and did not have competition anymore. Moreover, Gregory was not a monk, so how could he not be moved by her beauty?
Thus, she was self-assured about getting her hands on this man. It was only a matter of time.
However, Yuiliana knew that Gregory would not be in a good mood, and she was smart enough not to go to him at that time so as not to provoke him further.
On the other hand, Gregory threw himself headfirst into the study after he came back.
Everyone looked at each other and wondered what he was trying to do.
Something had happened to Ms. Thomas and her whereabouts were unknown, but instead of looking for her, Young Master even locked himself in his study to take care of business?
At that point, Miss Thomas was not even as important as his business. It seemed that all the previous speculation that these two might rekindle their old flame was just wishful thinking on their part.
When they thought of this, they all sighed.
After Gregory returned to the study, he turned on his computer and inserted a small USB stick. Immediately after, a window popped up on the screen.
If there was a professional beside him at that time, that person would know that this was a location tracker.
Yes, indeed. The only reason why Gregory was willing to let Vickie go in the first place was not that he had given up, but because he knew that even if he reluctantly kept her here, her heart would not stay, which would be just as useless.
Instead of detaining her against her will, he had let her go and gave her the freedom to do what she wanted to do.
Gregory, on the other hand, always had someone to watch her secretly. Every single thing she brought with her when she left the chateau was fitted with a location tracker.
Clothes and shoes could be lost and changed, but her phone as well as the dagger that Vickie habitually kept on her body and refused to put aside even when she slept, were things she would never lose.
Therefore, no matter where she went and what she was doing, Gregory could always see where she was at one glance.
Now that Vickie had fallen into the river, which was not long, according to the manpower they put in, they would have found her within half an hour.
Since nothing had been found thus far, it could only mean that she was most likely not in the river at all.
Sure enough, when he turned on the location tracker, he saw that the red dot, which represented Vickie, was not at the river’s coordinates. That red dot was on a hill about 10 km away from the river and was even moving rapidly.
His gaze deepened and immediately called Harold in.
Gregory handed the phone over to Harold and ordered in a cold voice, "Send some men to follow this target immediately."
Harold looked at the location tracker on the screen and instantly understood the situation.
He secretly praised his boss for such a brilliant idea, then replied, "Yes sir!"
Harold then quickly ran outside.
Gregory also went back to his room, changed into clothes that were easy to move around in, and brought his weapon with him before he left.
On a mountain 10 km away from the city center.
The mountain was densely covered with trees. There was a small winding path that curved up through the mountains.
A few men dressed in tight T-shirts and black jackets climbed up the mountain with a wary look on their faces.
One of them was also carrying a person on his back. That person had a pale face and closed eyes. Shocking wounds could also be seen on the arms, waist, and thighs.
There was also a wound on the person’s head, but it was carelessly wrapped with an old headband, so it looked slightly better.
However, the person’s hair, which was soaked through with water, clung all over the face and neck and looked extremely disheveled.
