Noah turned to face Winnie. “You should go home and get some rest,Winnie.” The older lady quickly shook her head.”I want to stay and…” “Winnie,please, I wouldn’t want any of us falling sick from trying to stand strong for Tristan.” She then nodded,reluctantly.”I’ll come by later.” Noah nodded.”Just make sure you eat and take a nap.” He saw Winnie off to the door and then stared at Phoebe. “You too,Phoebe,you should go home and get some rest.” Phoebe didn’t insist.She nodded,looking sad. “Let me know if anything comes up.I’ll come by some other time.” “Okay.” When Phoebe walked off,Noah turned to face Zoe and slowly held her hand. “My love…” “I know what you’re going to say.I’m going to go have a bath at home.And I’ll bring you some food.I won’t take long.” “You should have a nap too.” Zoe shook her head.”No.I want to stay here with you.” He knew he couldn’t win against her so he nodded. She tried her best not to take too long.After having her bath and dressing up,she got into her car,she at a restaurant and ordered some takeouts and then she headed back to the hospital. When she walked through the hallway,she saw Noah sitting on a chair in front of Tristan’s ward.He looked crestfallen and her heart broke for him. She walked closer and sat beside him.He stared at her and sighed,heavily. “Andy’s family was just here.They’re absolutely devastated.He is survived by a sister and mother.” “I can’t imagine the pain they must be going through.This is heartbreaking.No one deserves this.”Zoe slowly pulled him into her arms. “Wha…what if he doesn’t make it,Zoe?How am I supposed to tell his mother and grandma?” Zoe lifted up his head.”You said it yourself that Tristan is a fighter and he wouldn’t give up so easily.We should remain positive,okay?” Noah nodded with tears filled eyes. She made him eat even if he could only eat a little.And by evening,the doctor walked up to them with some news about their observation.Winnie had returned to the hospital. “Mr Godoy keeps slipping in and out of consciousness.Whenever he’s conscious,it barely last few seconds.He’s still very unstable but I was wondering who Cora was and if she is here?” Noah and Zoe was shocked to hear that.”Cora is his ex-wife.Why are you asking,doc?” “The few times that he was conscious.He kept murmuring her name.He calls to her,repeatedly and that only means that person means the word to him.We concluded that if she was here,we have to allow her into the ward,perhaps to pick with him,if he could sense her presence,we strongly believe it would improve his condition and perhaps give a strong will to live.” Noah glanced at Zoe and then at the doctor.”We’ll try to talk to Cora about this.”He said to the doctor who nodded and walked off. “Zoe…” “I know.I’ve been even contemplating on telling her about what happened to Tristan and now that I know he keeps calling to her even in his condition,I should call her right now.” Noah smiled.”Thank you so much,Zoe.” “Don’t thank me yet.The decision to come back still lies with Cora.We can’t force her or hate her if she doesn’t come.” “She will.”Winnie who had been silent all evening finally spoke.”I know Cora.We lived together for three years.She has a heart of gold and she’ll definitely come to see Mr Godoy.”She said,confidently. Zoe only nodded and then dialed Cora’s number. *CORA* In the last two months,I had visited about five countries.I was having the time of my life.Seeing new places,meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I tried not to get too acquainted with the people I met in each country because I knew I wasn’t staying long.With my dad giving me good updates about the company regularly,I was starting to think of settling abroad. I was in Paris now and I was deeply considering on settling down here.I had found peace within myself and I was starting to love myself again.Maybe I didn’t need to go back and be reminded of my past. Maybe what I needed was to settle down here.My soulmate could even be here in Paris. Should I start getting deeply acquainted with people now? I didn’t know what to say.I just felt so overwhelmed so I hung up and turned off my cellphone.
