Chapter 109

*CORA* I looked at Tristan, seriously. “Do not ever bring this up to me.” “Cora, please give me another chance. For the sake of Lady Jane.” I hated the fate that he was trying to use my weakness against me! Even if I were to ever consider going back to him,I needed to feel his sincerity! Not him trying to use Lady Jane and make me suffer all over again. I was filled with disappointment towards him. This man in front of me was a rogue. I had been fooled by him for various reasons, and now he shamelessly asked for remarriage. "Tristan, let me tell you clearly. Listen up, I won't accept any remarriage, no matter what,no matter what reason or condition it is. I won't accept it. I won't accept it. " My voice grew louder and louder. The two of us had already walked out of the courtyard and came to the forest road outside the villa. I hated his ways so much that I refused to remarry without leaving any room for negotiation! ********************* How could Tristan think of something like this? Just like when they got married and divorced, it was not up to her. Tristan ran a hand through his hair, frustratedly. He had told Cora to her face multiple times that he wanted her back. But she didn’t believe him. He was using Lady Jane to try and get her back but it was still fruitless. He was so frustrated and he blurted out without thinking. “Don't you think you are being too vicious? Cora, no matter what, please think about the wishes of an old woman who is dying and how much glory and benefits you have obtained as the daughter-in-law of the Godoy clan. If these can't arouse a little sense of gratitude in your heart, I can only say that I have chosen the wrong person, and you are just so so. You are just like those ordinary women who want to take advantage of others' power. You are no different in essence.”Tristan tried to goad her with a poker face. Hearing this,Cora was furious. "Yes, I'm vicious, I'm vain, and I'm using you. I'm just a common woman. I shouldn't have come here with you today, or I needn't suffer your humiliation. Tristan , since I'm so bad, if you remarry me, it will ruin the reputation of your family. The reputation of the Godoy clan is so important. Why do you want me to marry you? " After saying that, Cora turned around and went back to the villa. It was a misstep for her not to drive herself here, so she couldn't leave now. Looking at the disappearing figure of Cora,Tristan was lost in thought. Why did such a good thing turned into a tragedy again? What else could he do to get her back? When Cora returned to the villa with a calm face, James looked up at her frozen red face and asked with concern, "Cora, are you hungry? The cook is preparing lunch." Shaking her head, she answered, "I'm fine. I'm not hungry yet, uncle." After saying that, she sat on the sofa in the living room and continued to take a nap. She felt uncomfortable at other people's home, but could do nothing to change the situation. Once she met Tristan, something bad would happen. Cora thought sadly. She wouldn't have said those word if Tristan hadn’t had provoked her. But sometimes she just couldn't control her fury. Tristan always had the ability to provoke her, make her mad. As a meek person, she could always be provoked by Tristan. This might be part of Tristan’s gift. But now, when she thought of Tristan, she felt that he would never change, just like her previous stubborn love for him. She would never do that again. Women were always good at lying to themselves and making perfect explanations for their lover. That was why there were so many people who were obsessed with bad boyfriends. Cora had been one of them. Tristan continued to walk along the forest road outside. It was late Autumn. The leaves had almost fallen from the three, leaving only bare branches. Cold wind blew up a few leaves on the ground, rolling them up and down. Was life the same as leaves flying up and down? Although Tristan felt that the first half of his life had been rising all the time, now it seemed that the process of falling had also come. Everything went wrong. His ex-wife hated him to the extreme. His Grandmother was seriously ill and there was a lot of mess waiting for him to deal with. He took out a cigarette. His hand had been a little stiff after exposing in the cold wind for too long. It took him several seconds to hold the cigarette. Then he took out the lighter, but it couldn't be turned on in the wind. Tristan restrained his temper and reminded himself not to lose his temper. Then he tried a few more times and finally lit the cigarette. He wrapped his coat tightly. The wind here was much more violent than that in the city, making the environment much colder. He recalled the conversation carefully and felt that there was something wrong. Normally, Cora should have agreed without hesitation, but she refused so fiercely this time. He admitted that he couldn't understand women. He always thought that women were animals who submits to pressure rather than conciliation. Moreover, he also chose to use both hard and soft tactics. It was as if he had finally plucked up to express his love to a girl he liked, but the girl should refuse him angrily. His mind was in a mess. He was about to lose two particularly important people. In the past, he didn't feel sad for Cora because he always thought that as long as he needed her, she would come back to him. But now, it seemed that it was not the case. Cora was eager to stay away from him. The conversation between them had become tit for tat. Tristan felt pain on his head, but his heart was not much easier than his head. Both of them ached. The pain on the head would disappear once he get back to the room, but the pain in the heart would only be sharper. He smoked a few cigarettes in a row before returning to the villa. He couldn't go out for too long and couldn't let his Grandmother see anything wrong with him. She had been worried enough about him. As soon as Tristan returned to the villa and pushed the door open, James's voice came. "I was about to ask the servants to look for you for dinner. Where have you been for so long?" His face darkened. It might be caused by the cold wind. "It's okay. I was just taking a walk. Where is Grandma? Would he get up for dinner?" "Yes, she is in the dining room now. Cora is still resting there." Tristan glanced at Cora lying on the sofa and said, "Cora, it's time for dinner. Grandma is waiting for us. " Cora woke up and opened her eyes, she saw Tristan’s gloomy face. She snorted coldly. If it weren't for the sake of Lady Jane and James, she would have already gone home. "Got it." Noticing the anger in her tone, James said in a hurry, "If you don't feel well, you can go there later." A sense of warmth welled up in her heart. Although it was just an understatement, James had expressed his position. At least, he didn't stand on the side of Tristan. "I'm fine, uncle. I'll go with you." Tristan frowned. She didn't say "we". Tristan knew that she was determined to make a clean break with him. He became angrier, but he couldn't lash out now. 'What a stubborn woman!'.
