Chapter 441

He could tell the two apart because their demeanors were vastly different. Lance was gentle and warm, while Dixon was ruthless. Loraine and Lance walked along the river, moving nearer to him, and he could feel that Loraine was a little different from her usual self. It felt as though she was afraid and hiding something. Jayden bit his lip as he heard Loraine anxiously call out softly, “Brother, I’m sorry for not telling you about my marriage sooner. I was just…Sorry. I… miss you very much.” “Raine, I had once imagined how you would look like on your wedding day. You must’ve looked beautiful and filled with joy,” Lance comforted. “Brother, I’ve followed you for decades, running all over the world, and I even caused you to miss your chance with Sis Caroline. I’m sorry. I know that my love is very selfish, and I know that I was wrong. “Actually, there’s something I’ve wanted to tell you for a long time. Brother, I’m letting you go to find my own happiness. I hope that you can give me your blessing.” After hearing that, Jayden finally knew what secret Loraine had been keeping in her heart. However, was the happiness she talked about actually true happiness? Loraine loved a man for several decades and followed him worldwide, but the man had no interest in her. Just the thought of that made Jayden feel bad for her. “Raine, I give you my blessing.” Lance rubbed Loraine’s head. She paused for a moment, startled by his actions, before saying, “Ever since I’ve become an adult, you’ve never touched me like that. I’ve really been holding you back all these years, making you uncomfortable. Lance called out to her, “Raine.” “Brother…” “To me, you’re the most important family member.” Loraine was Lance’s most important relative, and so was Caroline. Yes, he saw her as family, but Yara was the only girl that Lance would love. “Brother, thank you for taking care of me my whole life.” Lance smiled. “I’ll always take care of you.” Loraine finally understood. As long as they never talked about love, Lance would treat her better than anyone else. However, if love was brought into the picture, their relationship would change to strangers. Fortunately, she realized that she found someone she loved and wanted to be with. She found someone she wanted to start a family with. Lance stayed for a short while before going back to the hotel. Back in the hotel, he sent a message to Yara after he showered. [Lance: Yara, see you later.] After Lance returned to the hotel, Loraine did not walk far before finding the doctor standing next to a willow tree. His beautiful eyes were looking straight at her. She called out gently, “Doctor.” “Yeah?” he answered. “I’m not pregnant.” “I know.” Loraine eyed him suspiciously. “How did you know?” “Did you forget what I do for a living?” She answered happily, “How come you know everything?” “I trust you.” He trusted her and believed that she would not lie to him. Loraine understood the meaning behind his answer. Her eyes reddened, and she wanted to rush into the doctor’s embrace. In fact, that was exactly what she did. She buried her head in his arms and said in a grateful tone, “Thank you for being so understanding all this while.” He held onto her body as she called him ‘doctor.’ “Hm?” She repeated it once more, “Doctor.” Jayden did not reply. She looked at him affectionately. “Doctor, I love you.” She was grateful for his presence in her life. “Raine, thank you for choosing me.” He was grateful that this upper-class lady was willing to marry him. “Doctor, I want to be your bride tomorrow.” “Yes, and tomorrow I’ll be your groom.”
