Chapter 847

Ryan sighed and sadly looked around the cellar. "What a shame! I don't want our first time having fun here to be our last time too." Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his shoulder. "Ouch! It hurts!" he cried out. Turning around, he saw Camelia biting his shoulder. "Amy, what are you…" He started to scold her but couldn't bring himself to finish. She gently leaned against him. "I want you to remember me forever!" He was angry at first, but when he heard that, all his anger was gone. He wondered if all women expressed their happiness by biting someone. He felt confused. The two of them got out of the cellar and moved the remaining corn inside before putting the cover back on. The next day, they would need to place charcoal inside. Ryan had enjoyed his time in the cellar, and now, with a clearer mind, he realized Freya's earlier search for him had to have a reason. He wouldn't forgive if the campsite were in danger because he was busy having fun. When he returned to the cave, Freya, Nina, and Eloise sat around the fire. Sherry usually didn't go up the mountain, and she ate by herself most of the time. Eloise stood up and welcomed them back. "Ryan, Ms. West, what took you so long to return? Where were you two? We were so worried about you!" Nina shook her head, thinking how clueless Eloise was. Since Ryan and Camelia returned together with a huge smile, that could only mean one thing. She couldn't believe Eloise would still ask a stupid question like that. She couldn't take it anymore and answered for Camelia, "Isn't it obvious? Ms. West and Ryan were working hard for the campsite!" Eloise was upset when she thought about how Nina would always go against her. After all, was it wrong of her to be worried about Ryan and Camelia? Eloise pouted, saying, "I just wanted to ask what they were doing." Camelia didn't know what to do with Nina's harsh attitude and shook her head. Then, she told Eloise, "Thank you for worrying about us! Nina was right. We were just busy working!" Freya didn't dare to look at them. When she thought about the noise from the cellar earlier, she started blushing again. Ryan and Camelia sounded happy when they were enjoying themselves. She tried to be open-minded about it, but she still felt jealous. So, she purposely asked, "So, what exactly did you two do? I've been looking for you the whole day!" Nina looked at Freya with a weird look. She wondered why the latter was as oblivious as Eloise. Did they have to get to the bottom of it? Camelia thought about how to answer the question so that Freya wouldn't get suspicious. Ryan cleared his throat and said, "We moved the corn into the cellar today. Then, Ms. West said she wanted to go for a walk, so I accompanied her in the woods. We lost track of time and didn't realize it was getting dark. We're sorry for making you guys worried!" Then, he hurriedly changed the topic. "Freya, you said you were looking for us. Did you need anything?" Freya shot him an unhappy glance when she saw how natural he was at lying. "When I walked around the cornfield today, I realized a lot of the corn had been eaten. I'm sure there's some kind of pest, but I don't know what kind. I wanted to discuss how we should deal with it. Otherwise, our corn will be gone in no time!" Camelia had been flirting with Ryan a lot recently, and she didn't even realize this serious issue when she had been in the cornfield countless times. She felt embarrassed and sad and quickly asked, "Did the pest eat a lot of our corn? Oh, dear. Look at how I've neglected my job at managing the cornfield." Freya said with a deadpan face, "They've eaten quite a bunch, but there are still a lot left. However, if we don't deal with it soon, we'll lose more." Ryan frowned as he suddenly looked serious. "Let's look at the cornfield early in the morning tomorrow. I want to see what kind of pest it is." However, Camelia couldn't wait anymore. So, she went out with a torch. "I'm going down right now!"
