ELORA'S POV
After I dropped Maya at home that evening, my nerves were killing me, my guts were tangled so tight I thought I might choke on them. The thoughts of seeing Lucian again after I literally shoved him away like trash…
But still, I had to do this. I only had one mission tonight—to get Lucian to give me a ticket to the auction. Nothing else mattered.
When I pulled into the mansion's driveway, I noticed his car in the garage. My chest tightened. He was home. Of course he was. Fate loved to test me when I was at my weakest.
I stepped inside the house and went straight to the masters bedroom, but it was empty. No sign of Lucian. Then I walked down the hall to his office. My knuckles hovered over the door for a moment before I finally forced myself to knock.
