Clyde made the trip to Harlport overnight. As soon as he arrived at the apartment complex where the Sweeneys lived, he spotted Cecily walking out. He was about to approach her when he saw Andrew standing beside her. Cecily and Andrew held hands, and whatever he said made her laugh. Her smile was so bright that it left Clyde momentarily dazed. He remembered how she used to follow him around with that same radiant smile, but now it was meant for someone else. Clyde didn't move any closer. Instead, he stayed hidden behind the flower bushes, torturing himself as he watched their display of affection.
