Andrew trusted Cecily completely and was ready to risk damaging Swift Group's stock price to protect her. But she wasn't willing to put him in such a difficult position. Instead, she resigned and took full responsibility for the accusations of plagiarism. As she packed up her things in the design department, her colleagues watched in sadness, unwilling to let her go. They knew she was innocent. Someone with her talent had no reason to plagiarize others' work. When Andrew returned from the board meeting and saw her clearing her desk, he rushed over to stop her. "I'll handle the board. You're the one who's been wronged here. I won't let you take the fall for this. A plagiarism scandal could ruin your career." Cecily was truly grateful for Andrew defending her, but she couldn't stand the idea of causing him any trouble. Even as Swift Group's second heir, Andrew had been questioned multiple times by the board because of the incident. He had been staying late at work for days to manage
