Chapter 8

Before she left, Samantha messaged Kevin Grant, her landlord, and informed him that she wouldn't be renewing the lease. Kevin kept asking why she was moving out, so she simply gave him a random excuse. He then offered to extend her stay until the middle of the following month. Samantha knew that Wilson was behind the suggestion. She figured that he wanted her to stay a couple more days before pretending to regain his memories. He would be able to take her home after that. She did not expose their plan and agreed to it. … Samantha received an unknown call three days before her departure. The person said, "Hello, is this Ms. Warner? I'm John Lemmington, the manager of Hickston Hotel. You held your engagement party here before. "Your fiancé previously reserved our main hall for a wedding the day after tomorrow, but we've been unable to reach him lately. There are a few details that need to be confirmed. Would you be able to come in and discuss them with us?" Samantha was about to decline but paused when she heard the date of the day after tomorrow. It was January 1st—the day Wilson decided to end his charade and regain his memories, as well as the day she planned to leave. She agreed to John's request and called a taxi over. Samantha was stunned as soon as she entered the hall and saw the decorations. The flowers and ornaments were exactly the same as the setup during Wilson's proposal. Standing there, she couldn't tell if she was in the past or present. John was about to start his introduction when he received a call and had to step away for a bit. Samantha walked to the second floor and looked down. She couldn't help but recall when Wilson had knelt on the floor with flowers and a ring. He had vowed to only love her forever then. She had been eagerly anticipating their life after marriage back then. She hadn't expected everything to turn into naught in only just three months. The door suddenly opened as Samantha was lost in her thoughts. Wilson, who was dressed in a suit, had walked in with a bouquet of flowers. Behind him, Natalie couldn't help but gasp in surprise when she saw the dreamlike scene. Anticipation flashed across her gaze as she asked, "Why did you bring me here, Wilson?" Wilson looked smug as he snapped his fingers. "This was where I proposed to Sam and held our engagement party. I'm planning to get my friends to bring Sam here the day after tomorrow. I'll then pretend to be moved by the scene and naturally recall the past. "I brought you here today to rehearse. You'll pretend to be Sam and help me see if I missed any details." After that, Wilson pushed Natalie toward the center of the stage before starting his act. The huge pillar completely blocked Samantha from their view. She quietly watched their heartfelt performance, her gaze wavering. She couldn't help but admit that Wilson had a talent for acting. If she had been completely unaware of everything, she might have been fooled by him when she came over in three days. Fortunately, she wasn't unlucky enough to have reached that stage. The performance downstairs had reached the forgiveness stage, and Natalie stood on tiptoe to kiss Wilson. The once heartfelt atmosphere began to shift, taking on a different tone. His white suit was stained with lipstick while her pink gown trailed to the floor. Wilson grabbed Natalie by the waist and asked playfully, "Someone might come in here at any time. Must you really seduce me like this?" "There are only three days left. Don't you understand that an unforgettable night is worth a fortune? Besides, isn't it exciting to go for it once at the most important venue of your life?" she replied. Wilson narrowed his eyes as he watched her seductive expression. He chuckled lightly and said, "You have many tricks up on your sleeves, don't you?" Natalie replied, "How else would I make you remember me otherwise, darling? You can always contact me if you find something missing after getting back with her." Upon hearing her words, Wilson reached out to pinch her chin. His gaze cleared up momentarily as he spoke with certainty. "It won't happen again. Everything will come to an end in three days, and I'll only belong to Sam alone." Samantha lowered her gaze, concealing the mockery in her eyes. She inwardly replied to him. It was too bad that she no longer wanted Wilson.
