At 5:00 pm, the skies finally cleared after a full day of rain.
Feeling satisfied, Wilson opened the car door and waved at Natalie, who was still buttoning up her clothes.
She pouted, shot him a glare, then leaned in for a kiss. Seeing the time on the car's display, Wilson turned his head away to dodge her attempt.
He said lazily, "Stop."
"But Will, I just—"
Wilson cut her off, his voice carrying an unmistakable authority as he scoffed. "I told you from the start that this was just a two-month game. Time's up now. You should leave."
Seeing how cold he was, Natalie had no choice but to step out of the car, albeit reluctantly. Wilson then rolled down the window and stepped on the gas.
The wind carried away the lingering scent of desire. As he watched the shrinking distance on the GPS, he smiled faintly.
When he arrived at the Hickston Hotel's parking garage, he didn't head to the main lobby but went straight upstairs.
