Home Again
Emily's POV.
The familiar scent of pine and wildflowers washed over me as we pulled up to the Windridge pack house. Coming home felt surreal after all these things.
I gazed up at the house, memories flooding back. Months after moving in with triplets, now it is truly my home.
"Home sweet home," Luca quipped as we climbed out of the car, but I could hear the weariness in his voice.
We grabbed our bags and headed inside. The house felt cavernous, eerily quiet without the usual bustle of pack life. Our footsteps echoed in the empty halls.
"Weird being back, huh?" Logan said, dropping his duffel by the stairs.
I nodded, running my hand along the familiar carved banister. "Yeah. So much has changed."
Leo wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me close. "We've changed."
He was right. We'd left as kids thrust into an impossible situation. We were returning as warriors.
"I can't believe Mom and Alpha Christ aren't here," I said softly, emotion welling up. "That they won't be coming back."
