Chapter 1066
It did not take long before Samantha and Joanna arrived upon receiving the news. The two women stepped into the room and saw Gloria on the bed.
Samantha asked anxiously, “How’s Gloria doing, Adrian?”
Adrian replied, “Accelerated cell division and mutation. Her body is undergoing massive changes and there’s no telling how the future will be. If we don’t stop the mutation, it’s possible that she’ll…”
“We’ll figure out something,” said Samantha comfortingly. “Has Winslow found an antidote?”
Gloria’s condition was deteriorating too quickly. Even with Winslow working at top speed, it was impossible for him to find a cure for Gloria’s condition within a short time.
Adrian shook his head. “He just concluded the expedition less than a month ago. It’d be difficult for him to figure out a way within such a short time.”
Samantha inhaled a deep breath. “What should we do then? If we don’t do anything, Gloria will turn into a monster.”
“I’ll figure out a way,” said Adrian anxiously.
Though he put it that way, Winslow was already the most skilled person in the country. If Winslow could not figure out a way, no one else could.
Adrian sat in the room and thought about all the possibilities yet could not come up with a good idea. He was clueless when it came to medical knowledge.
Gracia came from Drogoton in the wee hours of the night. She rushed to the hospital without delay and arrived at the room. Samantha and Joanna had already left by then, leaving only Adrian by Gloria’s bedside.
She gazed at her sister, then turned her head to Adrian and asked in a panic-stricken expression, “Have you thought of a way?”
Adrian nodded. “I thought of something but I haven’t come up with a way yet.”
“Are we not going to do anything then? No… We can’t just sit around. If we can’t find a way in this country, we’ll go to the outlands in search of a way. There has to be a way, right?” said Gracia as she looked at Adrian.
“I’ve already notified Winslow to reach out to all the doctors in the country. We’ll get some news by tomorrow morning. We’ll wait for a while,” said Adrian.
Gracia sat next to the bed and looked at her sister with tears streaming down her face. She stretched out her hand to caress Gloria’s hair. She murmured, “Why is this happening? Didn’t Winslow say that she had three months? Why is this happening so suddenly…”
“It’s their first time encountering this situation, so it’s inevitable that they made an error in judgment. Or maybe Gloria’s changes are just beyond expectations. You should calm down. I’m thinking of ways,” said Adrian to Gracia.
Gracia fell silent and sat beside Gloria to keep her company.
Adrian and Gracia sat for a whole night, but Gloria did not wake up the next morning.
Winslow traveled overnight to arrive at Swallowston Hospital. He sped to Gloria’s room and hurriedly said, “Sir, I think there’s only one person who can figure out a way to deal with Ms. Gloria’s condition within such a short time.”
“Who?” asked Adrian as he turned around.
Winslow inhaled a deep breath. “I reached out to all the doctors that I know last night and found out about this person who's known as the ‘Medical Maestro.’ He hails from our country and was known as a miracle doctor a few decades ago. He has migrated overseas and is currently living on the island of Bortugueasa.”
“Find him. He may have a way.”
“A miracle doctor?” Gracia muttered to herself. She then asked, “Is this person reliable?”
Winslow nodded heavily. “Yes, he’s from the same generation as my mentor. He left because something happened. His medical skills are exceptional.”
