Chapter 1063
Adrian lost count of the time he spent standing at the viewing deck. He then heard the sound of footsteps behind him.
Dressed in her nightgown, Samantha walked upstairs and hugged him from behind. Her body was in close contact with his muscular back, and her charming face was burrowed into his shoulder.
“I never imagined that there would come a day when my man would play such a crucial role in the country and become Navia’s shining glory. This had never crossed my mind when I first married you, Adrian,” said Samantha softly.
Adrian did not make a sound as he listened to Samantha’s words.
After a while, she said, “I saw what you did while you were in Serpent's Haven. To my eyes, you were tall, muscular, and majestic. You’re like my guardian angel. As long as I have you, I know that I’ll be fine even if the sky comes crashing down on us.”
Samantha expressed the true thoughts in her heart. When she married him eight years ago, she lived with the idea of adapting and conforming to her circumstances, until the day he came home.
Too many things have happened over the years.
Adrian said, “Ridge lost a leg to complete the mission, and Berserk lost an arm to save him. A girl was waiting at a far away place for Ridge to return. Living is hope.”
Samantha agreed upon hearing Adrian’s remark. She replied, “I know that Daniel is your best friend, and I’m deeply saddened by his passing too. But life goes on. Don’t think too much about it.”
Adrian inhaled a deep breath. He had experienced the many joys and sorrows of parting and coming together in life. Daniel’s passing made him sad. He turned around and said to Samantha, “I’m planning on visiting my grandfather tomorrow. Would you like to come with me?”
Samantha considered for a moment and said, “I have to be at the company tomorrow. Oh, I’ll let you in on the good news. We used Gloria’s blood and found a way to make a cure. We’re at the last stage of the clinical trial right now. When the trial is successful, we’ll be able to cure cancer. So how about you get Gloria to go with you tomorrow because I have to be at work. You can leave Nova to us as Ada’s about to go on break.”
Adrian asked, “How’s Riley’s boyfriend?”
Samantha nodded. “His cancer cells have been eradicated and he’s cured. Riley is already planning a wedding, and it should be very soon.”
“That’s great!”
“It’s getting late, let’s go to bed.”

The next morning, Samantha handed Nova to Rue after she was done feeding her and headed to work.
Adrian was planning on visiting Harold today. After all, Harold was Henry’s father. As Harold’s grandson, Adrian should visit Harold out of moral or logical obligations.
Adrian drove away from Swallowston with Gloria and headed to his family home.
Harold hailed from a small town under Swallowston’s jurisdiction, and the small town was known as Cloudanville. Harold used to be an ordinary town boy until he met Adrian’s grandmother.
The uprising of the Xander family of Swallowston was through the efforts of two people. One was Adrian’s grandmother, who had passed away, while the other was Harold.
Half an hour later, Adrian and Gloria arrived at the town. It had been more than ten years since Adrian last visited the family home. He had a profound memory of him visiting the place with his father when he was a child.
Adrian remembered the old acacia tree planted in the courtyard and wondered if it was still there.
