Chapter 1056
“The arm isn’t important.”
Adrian picked up the communicator and said, “Steel, Flynn, Blaze, Klause. I’m assigning the four of you to another mission. Each of you will lead twenty men to the four coordinates and eliminate the people there. They’re the troops in charge of the manual detonators, so they must be eliminated. I’ve already sent you the coordinates, so go ahead and make arrangements after receiving it and get ready to set out.”
The four of them acknowledged their instructions.
Adrian sat on the grass and fell silent, taking in a few deep breaths.
Following his order, the four of them assembled troops and set out to begin their operation right after reading the coordinates. About three hours later, Lucas led the rest to join the unit on the plains. By then, it was already late and darkness would soon be upon them.
After converging, Mya coordinated the watch duty schedule. They started a few fires and cooked dinner around them.
Lena came with a first aid kit to dress Adrian’s wound.
Meanwhile, Adrian said to Alan, “Fire a signal flare into the sky for assembly once every half an hour from now on, so our men lost on the island can follow the direction of the signal flare to assemble with us here as soon as possible. We’ll leave once everyone has gathered.”
Alan nodded.
It did not take long before a yellow signal flare was launched into the night sky. The signal was extremely bright, and one could see it at a glance. This particular flare was used to signal for assembly. In other words, everyone would assemble at the coordinates where the flare was launched.
Alan launched another flare every half an hour to guide their comrades who were left behind to come to this location. They would leave the island once everyone had assembled

The next day, a number of signal flares were fired during the morning, but no one came. Everyone continued to wait. It was the only thing they could do now.
In the afternoon of the same day, a few scattered men ran out of the rainforest, breathing laboriously. The flares had guided them to this location. However, the number of people was far from enough. There were still people who had yet to turn up.
The next day, only a little over twenty people responded to the flares. Adrian dispatched four troops to search for people in the surrounding areas. At the same time, Alan sent out flare after flare to tell everyone of the assembly location.
Two days passed. The only thing everyone could do over the past two days was pray for the rest of their comrades who were still lost on the island. But they did not just idle around but made smoke signals on the plains to guide their lost comrades.
The search troops found some comrades on the brink of death in the surrounding areas and saved them. Adrian led everyone in the search efforts and waited until everyone had arrived.
At last, more lost comrades arrived at the area one after another three days later. After being separated for a few days, the soldiers hugged each other and cried.
Adrian assigned someone to check the headcount. Other than those who had fallen, all their numbers were accounted for.
