Chapter 1050

Men in Dragon Peak battle suits surrounded the base. Meanwhile, several squads were rushing toward this place from the rainforest far away, ready to board the plane. There were more than twenty generators on the outskirts of the base, supplying the place with electricity. There were even facilities providing radio frequency signals. Based on all this, it was clear that the base was built for a purpose, and had been established a long time ago. A few staff members were inside the command center of the base, hastily packing their stuff into boxes before loading them onto the plane. It was clear they were fleeing the place. A middle-aged man in a Dragon Peak battle suit stood inside the base. He had on a dragon-shaped mask that concealed his might. His heavy masculine temperament was of a Novemton citizen, making others fear him even if they were looking at him from afar. This man was one of Wyvern Peak's Eight Hollows, Ariel Chapman, codenamed Abyss. Ariel had carried the mantle of Abyss for eighteen years. The Eight Hollows was originally formed to serve Wyvern Peak, but Ariel did not think Eight Hollows could stand proud solely by being at Wyvern Peak's beck and call. Instead, he wanted to conquer the entire world to prove his might. The other Eight Hollows shared the same dream as him, wanting to become the ultimate ruler of the world. Thus, they came together as a single unit. To them, Wyvern Peak was the greatest threat to their existence, which was why they executed their plan to eliminate War Legate Draco years ago. And today was the very day they thought everything would come to an end. Ariel stood at the main lobby of his headquarters with a tight-knitted frown. "Draco, it's not my intention to bid you farewell like this, but your existence is something that does not bring me any merit no matter how you look at it. I have no choice but to send you off today," he said with his hands behind his back. At that moment, a man walked in and said, "Sir, we received a report that Draco has destroyed Thiago's base.” "He has fallen for our trap. Thiago has never been anything more than a pawn, and now, it looks like it's time for me to reel in my net. How many from Dragon Peak are left out there? We have to leave this place as quickly as we can before blowing up the entire island." "About three thousand, and they're all Dragon Peak elites under Heywood's command. Should we leave them behind and get off the island?" Ariel took a deep breath. In truth, he already thought about abandoning them so that he could leave first, but he would not be able to complete the plan on his own. "They're the ones who planted the bombs all over the island, so Heywood may have come up with his own plans since he wouldn’t want us to abandon them. He might ruin our plans to blow this whole island apart if we leave them here." "Should I send our men out there to kill them?" "Where's Professor Cesar?" Ariel asked. "He's been confined. Do we have to take him with us, sir?" "We wouldn't have accomplished our objective without his help of laying down that many bombs around the island, so he is to be thanked for this." "But I think we should kill the old fart. Who knows? He might end up ruining our plans." "Let's keep him alive for the time being. We’ll need him to repair the manual detonator if something happens to it. Also, tell Heywood I’ll only wait for him for two hours. He has to get back here before that." "Yes, sir.” The man left, while Ariel's expression remained neutral. He mumbled to himself, "This is your first encounter with me, Draco, and it will be your last.”
